This 2006 Jayflight is in excellent condition! We bought it last year and lived in it while we built a new house. Now, were ready to sell it! Features include: dual pop outs (dining table/couch and dual rear bunks), AC, full bathroom, fridge/freezer, queen size master bed (upgraded mattress), surround sound, furnace, propane tanks included, ample cabinetry space, roll out awning, 175 feet of extension cord, and access ladder for the rear bunks. The only issues are: the linoleum cracked during the big freeze last winter and the sensor on the black water tank reads as full. Cash or MO only.  Asking 7800$

I'm looking into insurance options for an Ice House and wondering what advice or recommendations anyone has on the best type of coverage. Also, if I want to be able to rent out my ice house when I'm not using it but not as an "outfitter" or "guide" would that be something that typical coverage wouldn't cover if a profit is being made since I wouldn't have the coverage that a company running as an outfitter would have? (Such as how normal car insurance doesn't cover an Uber driver when they are logged into the app and giving someone a ride because they are consequently on the road more often and making a profit.) Any and all information or recommendations would be extremely helpful!

      All,
I am looking for a little advice.  I currently drive a jeep grand cherokee with the V8, and I am planning on buying a wheel house in the next year.  I wanted to get your thoughts and experience with what size wheel house would be a good choice for towing with my jeep.  My current plan is to go with an all aluminum house like a yetti or firebrand to keep the weight down, and for size maybe a 6.5'X14'.  If you have any experience pulling a wheel house with a smaller vehicle I would appreciate your input.
      Thanks,
      Bowhunt

Looking for some recommendations for cabins or other good places to stay on Vermilion.  Hoping to take my wife up for a weekend of ice fishing and then later this summer taking dad up for a while, so I am looking to see where the locals would recommend staying for either season.  For the winter season it would be nice to find a place that also has ice houses to rent, or possibly someone who rents sleeper fish houses as I would love to get on some night bite action.  For a place in the summer it would be nice to have either slips or a ramp onsite.  Pretty open to ideas at this point.

      Thank you

Looking for help with Ice Castle Fish House.  Bought a 2015 special this year, and wondering if its working as it should.  12v system is running off my boat interstate deep cycle.  Even with the generator running, I'm only getting a weekend out of the battery.  I hooked up a battery status indicator, and it says battery is "charging" as long as furnace isnt running.  The battery must have gotten too low the other day because the furnace quit heating.  Fan would run for 30 seconds, but it wouldnt light and then would shut off.  After I unhooked the battery, then it all started working again because must have been running off the generator.

So...my question is...do you guys get a faster charge rate than what I'm seeing or is all this just the way it's supposed to be...or do I have issues?.  Thanks.

Tell me about your Ice castle rattle reel setup.  How far off the floor do you have them? Pros, cons?  Also if there are any "must do" upgrades a person should do?

$5000,  Could be a great hunting shack, that was my plan anyway but my wife has other plans...
Clean, spacious, and comfortable 30 foot 5th wheel camper with large slide out for sale. Has working AC, Stove/Range and fan, microwave, new water heater, bathroom with toilet, sink, shower, bigger fridge (only works when plugged in, not propane powered) CD player, good tires. Comes with 2 30lb propane tanks. The propane powered furnace just went out, but a space heater heats it just fine. The furnace is easily accessible if you wanted to fix/replace. The slide out needs a little help pushing back in sometimes but it can be done with 1 person. Some cosmetic blemishes but looks and works great for its age. I lived in it for 2 years but now have a house. I pictured the rear area with storage shelves (they way I used it) and with recliners that came with it, also the table with 1 chair (office style) or 4 (dining style). Take whatever you desire, shelves, some or all chairs. You are welcome to the outdoor carpeted raised deck if you want it too. I cannot deliver but can help hook up 5th wheel. Call or text me, Id be happy to answer questions or set a time to look at it. Oh yea its got a jazzy name too, The Hacienda Express! Cash only please

What does everyone use to protect the carpeting when you haul an ATV in your ice house? I thinking when you leave the lake the house will still be warm and all the snow and ice and mud build up will melt and then refreeze and have a mess.

I'm in Black Bay, which in a typical year is no more than 6 feet deep (5ft this year!) so it's one of the first places to freeze along with all of the other shallow bays. My rule of thumb has always been to plan on trips through the end of October, open water in November is a pleasant gift. This year is obviously a little different at the moment.   I am hoping for that warm up....maybe I should just sit tight for a week and not push trying to get up there this weekend.

      Ice fishing by Halloween?
    • JerkinLips
I couldn't find ice-in data on Lake Vermilion  but mid-November is typical.  Usually occurs during firearms deer hunting but has occurred at the beginning and end of November.  May occasionally deviate outside of November.  Would be interesting to see the data.

Our group has been going up early to mid October for years but have also done September. You will likely catch more fish in October but weather is hit or miss. Example is this year...we were up this past weekend and it was miserable. Snowed every day and highs in mid 30s. Last year we were up the same weekend and fished in sweatshirts. That’s the gamble you have to take with October. We just don’t have the choice for now.    Edit: FWIW I’ve had plenty of bad/windy days in September too. But the bad in October are worse.

When do you guys get ice up there on a normal year was up by sawbill a week and a half ago water was pretty chilly
    • Darrell Larson
As far as I can see west of Duffy Island towards the Houseboats in Pike Bay it skimmed over with ice last night. Not saying it's going to stay. Just saying it has ice.
    • gimruis
Long range forecast has 50 degrees by deer opener.  I highly doubt winter is already here to stay.
