Pulley

Question

opsirc

I have a older sickle mower that had a 4hp engine on it which is no longer working. I have a newer 7hp that i was going to put on it, question should i replace the 4 inch pulley with a smaller one to compensate for the larger hp

I believe the diameter of the pulley is relative to the rpm of the motor.  So if the rpm are similar, you are good to go.
