Replacement pedal for minn kota power max all terrain help

Question

Joshua

Hello,  I have an older model minn kota trolling motor.  Its a 1999 All Terrain Power Max 44lb Thrust.    I cannot seem to find a new foot pedal system for it.

Should I just get a new trolling motor?

Thanks in advance for any help

If Minn Kota doesn’t supply them any longer, you should search the typical on line sales sites in case someone is advertising new old stock parts.

I have a 55lb Maxxum on my fishing boat that needs a new armature.  MK doesn’t sell them anymore either.  I did find some new lower units available and some armatures.  I don’t have the serial number sticker on my TM anymore to know for sure what armature to get so I took mine to an electric motor shop to be rewound.  The cost is about the same as a new lower unit though.

I might just as well get the lower unit with new seals and such but it is really a wash on price and everything else is in good shape.

Check more resources if you haven’t already is my advice.  Good luck.

Alexandria Appliance in Alexandria, MN is a Minn Kota parts outlet. Yeah, I was caught off guard about that too. Could check them out.

Have you tried cleaning it? I have found more often than not when someone tells me their foot pedal isn't working right, I can take it apart, clean it up, lubricate it, and everything works again. If you try this, avoid grease or oil because dirt collects. I used WD-40 and it seemed to work well.

I have a simular vintage Minkota, got tired of cleaning/repairing the foot control so went to a Co-pilot. Found it to have much better boat control trolling breaks for Walleye.

When I was using my Minn Kota PowerDrive I was hesitant to switch to Co-Pilot. But, after I switched, I never went back to the foot pedal.

I have a CoPilot-PowerDrive system available, cover, board, and remote.  I am located in the N/NW metro area.  It came off a 36v system and I do not know if that makes a difference or not.

Was sledding both on and off the staked trail yesterday.  Was COLD!!!  Happy to report that where we were (W side) most of the slush is frozen and not a problem. Traveled over a few pockets of watery slush, but they were small and easily managed.  Everything else is firm and crusted over. It’s minus 34 as I write this, so expect that any last remaining pockets of slush will be pretty firm  soon enough.

14 inches of ice on the west end of Francis on Tuesday, but the access was heaved up so bad I don't think I could have pulled the wheel house out. Caught 1 sunny but only fished for about  half an hour. Mostly checking ice thickness. Checked the ice on Elysian, 12 inches near the south access and 10 inches further out.

Does Fred tell Max to go up on the ridge while he goes down into the swamp to get that pesky squirrel 🐿 , or something like that?   Glad they are real bro buds and enjoy there digs were they hang , and maybe some digs in the sand come time the spring decides to say “hello all”. Oh if we the people only had it so rough as those doggies you got there .🐶   As for Bobby Orr and needing longer legs 🏒 , your pic shows that your all legs , maybe just need to practice more , or shave , nothin personal whatsoever  , just sayin that old number 4 didn’t have a beard .   And last but not least ,  hope that those K-9’s didn’t get into those baked beans to heavily as burping may be the least of your issues !! I bought a Striker snowmobile jacket and bibs at the Red Rock store up the Fernberg about 8 years ago. Really like them!

I am trying to decide where to go fishing Sunday night?

Daisy Bay today was much better today than 2 weeks ago, most of the slush pockets have firmed up.  Still a few around and off trail travel is a little to rough.  The staked trail is in good shape.
