Dont do as you alway do an you might have better success some once wrote n told me in person.

Dont fishen for numbers fishen to win the fight The Hunt.

G

Try places different with offering you might not always use.

Fish swim.  Remember that. ;)

Reef Hawg n The Sledge n Jake N G ma as well as good ol #6 Dinnerbell n Mr Suick all still enjoy gettin wet n will work hard for you if YOU DO YER PART n place yer offer in the right place right time.

DOH!

Tuff fish’n Should bring out yer fishen think mind wigglen cap an set in motion some fun ideas how to our smart the prize you seek.

Simple is best.

Nothing Good Comes Easy!

So many ways to offer up yer offerings n so many HOT places to offer them

Total trip trying to figure it all out.

Remember if you will I used to preach simple High n Low n Fast n Slow?

This can really get you on fish if your willing to work hard an see what the fish show ya.   Then react!  :)

Still mention in this lil game that the Fish are the Home Team an you n yer tackle are the Visiting team trying to hit a home run in their turf.

Bring yer best each time out an enjoy it all.

No pressure but that you bring in yerself.

;)

Also : Something colorful n bright the lives the light up yer odds during a tuff bite.

Shinny n Dull n Then Something painted n wild just 4 fun is actually a good way to Sporich things also

Simple choices.

Over thinks it is silly man remember the winter TV toads have tons of footage from years of fishen n can edit in anything they choose.  Ditch that stuff except for the humor an just GO FISH!

Time an again I have always said: “If it looks Fishy —. FISH IT”

You with see why a fish would even want to be there now or ever.

Filling that bait n make dance is a sure fire way to bring a boat boat side Muskie Fish romance!

Fish are still there n lots of them in all sizes n some totally huge ones an whole new group of teenagers that the big girls ain’t letting in in the goodcfeedin spots so YOU HAVE TO GO FINDEM!

Triple D n Creepers as extreme as you can get on a simple spot but one with get a fishvto show n maybe go!

Be there!

:)

Few big fish hangin in Ludlows narrows in mornings. Wow.

Waiting for me Sunday unless You get there1st.

Two fish caught behind Pine In Sand long casting with Dbl D I painted to look like a Tiger Banana.  Both bout 44” fishys at 3 to 4:10 Sunday. Fun junk n big smiles.

Monday had young friend showing a few things an he was on Fish - sixteen fish come to boat in area by Hinsdale to Gold island. Skinny sunny rock to nine feet. Nothing fancy. Medium speed.

All on top or tail 11 to 1 pm.

Mine 44” muncher which was totally fun on ol Jackpot why up tight.

Kid needs to learn the lures a bit better n what to do when boat side but those fish came out hard n fast an we’re teaseing him so do bad you might think I paid them to turn off last seconds!!

Way to fun.

Rip a heavy homemade jig in thick weeds way back in Greenwood Two produced two big pike an a fat 40” muskie Fish.

No one around except two Eagles. Blast good fun.

Two big bass n a Nice fat Pike Fish right in front of Tranchfs boat house on way to west end Saturday.

Six in Jake. Painted like a polka dot shirt yellow n red!

Long bomb casts to Fectis for fun as he asked me how I fish it. Third cast a heavy fish took me for a lil run but even after three rips I think I did still not move lure into meat.

Felt fun. Go get’r   Made me / us smile if only for s short time.

Small point under water pointing south off pine midway east holding couple wide body fishys lookin to eat

tried three different time periods n had fish out each time but they must be full as no dice on a chew. Just Tge Fin n A smile for me / us but that’s just fine. All good

on simple Buchertail n Storm giant minnow I painted up special like a big ugly booger!

On pontoon we trolled up two big wallys on south shore of pine at sunset Monday?

Clowning around with a homemade Jake type lure looks like my Nuke Perch.

Rewarding n fun n big smiles

Fred loved it.

Had these Chatter baits a long time. Never caught #%$& on then but still try. Something hoots give as they really do chatter n wiggle.

Anyway, c ya on the water.

Also just 4 fun .

:hello:  Tom , Fred Bear , Max Power , n Mrs W !

There you are back in the wild again , back where you belong ! Does Fred tell Max to go up on the ridge while he goes down into the swamp to get that pesky squirrel ? , or something like that?   Glad they are real bro buds and enjoy there digs were they hang , and maybe some digs in the sand come time the spring decides to say “hello all”.

Oh if we the people only had it so rough as those doggies you got there .?

As for Bobby Orr and needing longer legs ? , your pic shows that your all legs , maybe just need to practice more , or shave , nothin personal whatsoever  , just sayin that old number 4 didn’t have a beard .

And last but not least ,  hope that those K-9’s didn’t get into those baked beans to heavily as burping may be the least of your issues !!:pufff:

Keep on rocken and rockin !

Great looking Golden Retrievers you gots there !

I’m sure Max is saying to Fred “it’s good to have you at my side my friend”  and

if some of our teenage thrill seekers really want to get a thrill , let them go up to the Big V and tangle with a Muskie or two , it will cleanse their soul !!

Hey dad needs to get a Gibson Byrdland into Santa’s bones to accompany us on this song if we’re gonna keep on rocken says Max Power to Fred Fred !

ah the joys of not having to worry about ice out for the opener .

Enjoy the rays today !

Bigfatbert over , but not out !!

With the early ice out, how is the curlyleaf pondweed doing?
    • LakeofthewoodsMN
On the south end...   The big basin, otherwise known as Big Traverse Bay, is ice free.  Zippel Bay and Four Mile Bay are ice free as well.  Everything is shaping up nicely for the MN Fishing Opener on May 11th. With the walleye / sauger season currently closed, most anglers are targeting sturgeon and pike.  Some sturgeon anglers are fishing at the mouth of the Rainy River, but most sturgeon are targeted in Four Mile Bay or the Rainy River.  Hence, pike are the targeted species on the south shore and various bays currently.   Pike fishing this time of year is a unique opportunity, as LOW is border water with Canada, the pike season is open year round. The limit is 3 pike per day with one being able to be more than 40 inches. All fish 30 - 40 inches must be released. Back bays hold pike as they go through the various stages of the spawn.  Deadbait under a bobber, spinners, spoons and shallow diving crankbaits are all viable options.   Four Mile Bay, Bostic Bay and Zippel Bay are all small water and boats of various sizes work well. On the Rainy River...  Great news this week as we learned sturgeon will not be placed on the endangered species list by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service.     The organization had to make a decision by June 30 and listing sturgeon could have ended sturgeon fishing.  Thankfully, after looking at the many success stories across the nation, including LOW and the Rainy River, sturgeon fishing and successful sturgeon management continues.   A good week sturgeon fishing on the Rainy River.  Speaking to some sturgeon aficionados, fishing will actually get even better as water temps rise.     Four Mile Bay at the mouth of the Rainy River near the Wheeler's Point Boat Ramp is still producing good numbers of fish, as are various holes along the 42 miles of navigable Rainy River from the mouth to Birchdale.   The sturgeon season continues through May 15th and resumes again July 1st.   Oct 1 - April 23, Catch and Release April 24 - May 7, Harvest Season May 8 - May 15, Catch and Release May 16 - June 30, Sturgeon Fishing Closed July 1 - Sep 30, Harvest Season If you fish during the sturgeon harvest season and you want to keep a sturgeon, you must purchase a sturgeon tag for $5 prior to fishing.    One sturgeon per calendar year (45 - 50" inclusive, or over 75"). Most sturgeon anglers are either a glob of crawlers or a combo of crawlers and frozen emerald shiners on a sturgeon rig, which is an 18" leader with a 4/0 circle hook combined with a no roll sinker.  Local bait shops have all of the gear and bait. Up at the NW Angle...  A few spots with rotten ice, but as a rule, most of the Angle is showing off open water.  In these parts, most are looking ahead to the MN Fishing Opener.  Based on late ice fishing success, it should be a good one.

Nice fish. I moved to the Sartell area last summer and just thought it was windy like this everyday up here? 🤭
    • Rick G
Crazy windy again today.... This is has been the norm this spring. Between the wind and the cold fronts, fishing has been more challenging for me than most years.  Panfish have been moving in and out of the shallows quite a bit. One day they are up in the slop, the next they are out relating to cabbage or the newly sprouting lilly pads.  Today eye guy and I found them in 4-5 ft of water, hanging close to any tree branches that happened to be laying in the water.  Bigger fish were liking a 1/32 head and a Bobby Garland baby shad.   Highlight of the day way this healthy 15incher
