so anyone know whats up with snowfighter???????? he hasnt posted in a long long time?????? hope all is well with him. my parents bought the cabin from his dad!!!!!!
Looking at the latest images, the lake looks pretty iced over... are there any areas of thin ice / open water to be found? Not looking to fish, need to test some safety gear with a group. Any river mouths open or areas between Duluth and Tettegouche?
Yup !! Also note the new one over change to 26”... it’s currently 28”
18”-26 must be immediately released , and one walleye over 26” may be included daily and possession.
Kab , Namakan, Sand Point , Crane .
These changes start on the 2019 opener .
So after the 8” of snow the other day the lakes are a huge mess. I was out for a snowmobile ride yesterday and went to a lake not to far from home. I like to ride out there a couple times a week. So I made a loop around the lake and the snow was about knee deep but had no issues. I was just about ready to head home and checked out an area I like to fish. Well.... I jumped a plowed road bank and sink in about 1 foot of water and slush. I pinned my sled and barley crawled along about 50 years to dry snow. So my weekend plans of fishing are done. This was a smaller lake so I’m sure all lakes are impassable. I have what I think id a good ice fishing sled. A Polaris 600 with a 136” track never had an issue before but with all the snow and slush now there’s no way I’ll be able to fish. The snowmobile trails haven’t beeen grommed after the last snow and I’m getting sick of riding the ditches. Anyone else annoyed with all this snow now? Thanks Mother Nature I now have nothing to do this weekend! 😥
Way to let "Quasimoto" go and perpetuate his/her goofy genes... If I catch a bunch of funny-looking, humpy 13.5 inchers in the future, I'm blaming you! 😁 (...as opposed to the scrawny 9 inchers I'm lucky to catch...)
Poor thing looks like it's gonna get stuck in the ice-hole!
I usually keep my sonar unit in the house because I put it on the charger every time I get home. Just for fun, the next time it does it, I might try just warming up the transducer and sending it back down the hole to see what happens. Thanks.
