Suspended fish?

Anyone noticing or catching suspended fish this year? Last year we caught our biggest fish 10 to 12 feet off the bottom.

I agree with Curt. The Vexi is the key to seeing these fish come in high. We call them flyers. My expierance has been that they are most definitley more agressive when suspended.<P>Our first trip to LOW in Decemeber my son got quite a surprise. We were sitting in 29' of water, had a flyer come in at 18', good bite, nice hook set and to our surprise a 7# pout. Have never caught one of these uglies up that high. Bill

I agree also. Vex is awesome when it lights up high. Anticipating the slam of an aggressive fish is what we all are looking for on LOW.<BR>Good luck to all.

I had a couple nice ones hit while I was cleaning the ice off of my bobber, I'm not sure how high they were suspended, but my lure must have been a good 3 feet off of the bottom because of how I was sitting.

dirty use an ice buster bobber and you want have to clean off ice

I was in an ice fishing house with a double headed sunflower heater, and a single headed sunflower heater both going full blast, I didn't think I'd need to worry about the holes icing up. Otherwise I woulda brought some, as it was I was using my buddies equipment.

Bill, I too caught my first suspended pout this year. Had just hooked 2 on the bottom 15min apart then saw a flash about 6ft off. Brought jig up and it got nailed, told my fishing buddy this was THE EYE i've been looking for. He is still laughing!
