The fish were biting everywhere, but they werent jumping in the boat. Jigging was working good but slow presentations were giving light bites. Larger jigging motions and shorter pauses produced more agressive bites which meant landing more fish. We pulled fish over the 17" mark from 6' on out. But 12 to 12.5' was best for us. Fatheads and leeches were working equally. Cranks were also producing fish as a good option for the rare calm days on the big lake. The perch are around too but not everywhere, the biggest we took home was 12". Pike were harder to come by when targeted, about a dozen but mostly snakes. Largest was an estimated 5 pounds. Some reports were rough from other boats, but we had fish every night and came home limited out. By no means a high numbers time of year but still a good time on the water without the crowds.
