Decided to fish Big Detroit saturday with a buddy.  Had bites but my 24 v 75#  trolling motor couldn't keep me in place so that sucked.  When we left the access to go fishing I asked the young man how late they were open till so I could make it back in time to get washed since I was going to fish a different lake on Sunday morning with the nephews.  I will be here till 5:30!  Sounds good see you before 5!  Fishing sucked, Wind BLEW, RAIN SUCKED!  So we packed up at 4:30 drove to access get there around 4:40 and they are gone!  Hot on my heels is a local fishing guide and he wasn't happy also because he had the same game plan.  Was told that there would be one at Melissa till 5 pm religiously.  Got there by 4:55 and they were gone from that lake too.  I honestly don't feel comfortable enough to do a safe job washing since I don't have a pressure washer and I really don't want to spread the Zebra Mussels from lake to lake and I know it was only a few hours 5-6 but honestly whats the point of AIS being there if they don't stay till the house they are supposed to be?  There was an easy half dozen boat trailers still at the access so it wasn't like we were the only two left at the access.

Doesn't matter.  They will never get the little buggers that are inside your trailer frame anyway.  Total waste of taxpayer money.

I'm not arguing that.  How do they flush the compartments within a wake boarding boat where they can store 50-75 gallons of water to sink the boat lower in the water?  It just stinks when they say they will be open for X hours yet leave early because they are "Slow".  I brought my boat through a few days later after leaving ottertail heading back into becker county and the kid told me if the parking lot is empty they can leave.  I told him there was 6-10 trailers in the parking lot and he instantly responded with "Oh they must have gotten there after i left"  How did my boat get in the water then?? lol  It's a joke yes but I don't want any tickets.

I have been on Melissa a few times this year, each time coming off they ask me where I plan to go next and when. If my next lake is already invested or if it was to be a couple days later they did not spray me down. I thought that was strange. What if I change my mind and go someplace different or go sooner than I thought...

If I go on an infected water I get it cleaned regardless.  Granted 99% of the time I fish a non-infected lake but still get it cleaned just incase.
