Recommended Posts

2005 Lund Explorer Fisherman Adventure 1600 side console boat (16’6”).  Excellent condition both inside and outside.  86” wide beam and roomy with lots of storage including 7’ lockable rod locker with 5 rod sleeves and tons of base storage within this compartment. Covered bow storage with leather snap on cover. Floor anchor storage compartment, and plenty of other storage in the bow, starboard locker, and transom. A large lighted divided livewell in front of the console and a baitwell in the rear of the boat.  Both livewell and baitwell aerated are on automatic timers and either can be independently be shut off. 12volt cigarette outlet at the bow(for spot light or cell phone charger).  2 Fish-On mounted rod holder bases at the bow and 3 Fish-On additional, movable rod holders along the Lund Sport Trac system (allowing the rod holders to be moved anywhere along the gunwale).   3 batteries with a 2 bank battery charger/tender on the 2 trolling motor batteries.  Interstate starting battery new is 3-4 years old.  The trolling motor batters are the largest size (size 31) deep cycle batteries new in 2012 (still hold charge and deliver power like they are brand new). Factory issued Lund boat cover included(never been used in the last 5 years).  Comes with 3 premium, matching Lund leather seats that can be moved to 6 seat bases.  6 cup holders.  Raised front and rear casting decks. The floor is in great shape.  No soft spots at all.  Absolutely no Leaks and clean bottom of hull.  Some minor wear on the carpet.  The boat is licensed in MN thru 2019.  I will include a matching throw cushion (red).  Bow nets along both sides for additional storage of items. 3 interior lights are installed on this boat.  There is a Sony AM/FM/CD stereo with antenna included at the console.  The Sony has a detachable face with carry case included.  2 waterproof marine speakers provide plenty of quality sound. New bilge pump last year (2016). Speed, tach, and fuel gauges at dash.  72” floor ruler and 36” aluminum rulers included with “bump board” feature.  There is a lockable glove box in the console.  Front and Rear navigation lights included.  Gas tank is over ¾ full of new fuel (BONUS).

See full specs and floor plan from Lund at page #27 and #34 from the link below:

2004 Mercury 60 HP EFI motor.  2 tilt and trim switches, at the throttle, and motor.  No dings or nicks in the flawless stainless prop and a brand new aluminum spare prop included (never touched water).  The skag has a dime sized notch missing, but has been filed down and has no impact to the performance of this motor.  The motor is in excellent condition and runs perfectly.  Starts easy even in extremely cold weather. Pushes the boat 33MPH with one person.  The motor has a Sting Ray Hydro Foil fin on it as well.  Squeeze/pump ball included, but never need to squeeze.

2006 Karavan galvanized roller trailer with matching galvanized rims. Spare tire included that is in great shape.  Recently, completely rewired with heavy gauge protected wire and LED lights.  It has the rear 3-light bar too.  Brand new tires last fall(2016) with new tire marks still visible.  Less than 500 miles on these new tires.  Bearing buddies and transom saver included.  2” ball and flat 4 trailer wire hookup.  The trailer has a lifetime license in MN.  Swing tongue saves over 2’ of storage and this boat can be stored in 20’ deep garage (motor down and swing tongue).  2 quick tie-down straps included on transom.  One man can roll this boat easily into and out of a garage.

2013 Minnkota Terrova 80lb 24v trolling motor with iPilot and iPilot Link (linked to Humminbird 898 graph).  This trolling motor include a brand new (never used except for one quick test) Terrova foot pedal.  65” shaft and universal2 transducer built in the trolling motor head.  Battery charge indicators.  The iPilot Link was added to the Terrova in new in 2015.  The iPilot Link comes with a color LCD remote that is on a lanyard and was replaced brand new under warranty last year.

2 Humminbird graphs included.  Permanently at the bow is a Humminbird 898HD SI GPS/Sonar/DI combo graph(4 years old).  Humminbird 899HD is 2 years old and can be linked to iPilot Link Minnkota from the bow or the console.  I put the graph in the bow for most of my fishing, but if I’m trolling, I can move it back to the console.  At the bow it reads off the Terrova trolling motor US2 transducer and at the console it reads off the factory issued transducer at the stern.  The 899 is mounted on a HD RAM mount and the 898 is mounted on a Johnny Ray swivel mount at the console.  The 898 reads side imaging and down imaging very well.  Both graphs and the iPilot Link have the latest software upgrades installed.  I have the newest LakeMaster chips for upper Midwest waters in both graphs.

2 owners.  I’m selling only because I’m planning to by a slightly larger Lund boat.  I’ve owned this boat since 2012.  Always stored in a garage (heated for most of its life) and never left on a dock overnight.  Boat and motor were purchased new in 2005 by previous owner (motor was a carry over).  The previous owner then put a new trailer under this boat in 2006.  I’ve got all the original motor manuals for basically everything on this boat.  This boat if fully loaded and ready to fish or recreation.  I would be happy to accompany a serious buyer to the water for a test drive, or hookup the ear muffs in my driveway.   You won’t be disappointed with how well this motor starts and runs and purrs.  It’s extremely efficient on gas and uses no oil from season to season.   The oil, oil filter, and lower unit grease is changed fresh every season.

Serious inquires only.  This is a MUST SEE boat to appreciate its appearance all it has to offer.  In-fact, I’d say you have to drive this boat and have it on the water to fully leverage the electronics, motor, trolling motor, and fish catching attitude.

If price is a concern, I’m willing to negotiate by removing/keeping the Terrova trolling motor, the Humminbird graphs, the LakeMaster mapping chips to put towards my new boat.  I also have 2 butt/casting seats that I will throw in if it’s a full price, easy transaction.

Cash or Bank Check.  No tax.  I will have a Bill of Sale.  The title is free and clear and in my possession.

Asking $14,250

I live downtown Rochester, MN

I’m no photographer, but I took pictures from almost every angle (it was raining out) and the boat was I just pressure washed the floors so that’s why they look wet.

With the early ice out, how is the curlyleaf pondweed doing?

On the south end...   The big basin, otherwise known as Big Traverse Bay, is ice free.  Zippel Bay and Four Mile Bay are ice free as well.  Everything is shaping up nicely for the MN Fishing Opener on May 11th. With the walleye / sauger season currently closed, most anglers are targeting sturgeon and pike.  Some sturgeon anglers are fishing at the mouth of the Rainy River, but most sturgeon are targeted in Four Mile Bay or the Rainy River.  Hence, pike are the targeted species on the south shore and various bays currently.   Pike fishing this time of year is a unique opportunity, as LOW is border water with Canada, the pike season is open year round. The limit is 3 pike per day with one being able to be more than 40 inches. All fish 30 - 40 inches must be released. Back bays hold pike as they go through the various stages of the spawn.  Deadbait under a bobber, spinners, spoons and shallow diving crankbaits are all viable options.   Four Mile Bay, Bostic Bay and Zippel Bay are all small water and boats of various sizes work well. On the Rainy River...  Great news this week as we learned sturgeon will not be placed on the endangered species list by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service.     The organization had to make a decision by June 30 and listing sturgeon could have ended sturgeon fishing.  Thankfully, after looking at the many success stories across the nation, including LOW and the Rainy River, sturgeon fishing and successful sturgeon management continues.   A good week sturgeon fishing on the Rainy River.  Speaking to some sturgeon aficionados, fishing will actually get even better as water temps rise.     Four Mile Bay at the mouth of the Rainy River near the Wheeler's Point Boat Ramp is still producing good numbers of fish, as are various holes along the 42 miles of navigable Rainy River from the mouth to Birchdale.   The sturgeon season continues through May 15th and resumes again July 1st.   Oct 1 - April 23, Catch and Release April 24 - May 7, Harvest Season May 8 - May 15, Catch and Release May 16 - June 30, Sturgeon Fishing Closed July 1 - Sep 30, Harvest Season If you fish during the sturgeon harvest season and you want to keep a sturgeon, you must purchase a sturgeon tag for $5 prior to fishing.    One sturgeon per calendar year (45 - 50" inclusive, or over 75"). Most sturgeon anglers are either a glob of crawlers or a combo of crawlers and frozen emerald shiners on a sturgeon rig, which is an 18" leader with a 4/0 circle hook combined with a no roll sinker.  Local bait shops have all of the gear and bait. Up at the NW Angle...  A few spots with rotten ice, but as a rule, most of the Angle is showing off open water.  In these parts, most are looking ahead to the MN Fishing Opener.  Based on late ice fishing success, it should be a good one.

Nice fish. I moved to the Sartell area last summer and just thought it was windy like this everyday up here? 🤭

Crazy windy again today.... This is has been the norm this spring. Between the wind and the cold fronts, fishing has been more challenging for me than most years.  Panfish have been moving in and out of the shallows quite a bit. One day they are up in the slop, the next they are out relating to cabbage or the newly sprouting lilly pads.  Today eye guy and I found them in 4-5 ft of water, hanging close to any tree branches that happened to be laying in the water.  Bigger fish were liking a 1/32 head and a Bobby Garland baby shad.   Highlight of the day way this healthy 15incher
