Does anyone know if the fish are coming out of zipple bay? We are getting a few of us togather for a two lake trip. First to Zipple bay then to Red lake this weekend. I was wondering if it was worth the time to go to Zipple.

Always worth your time to hit the big pond!!
I was up last weekend during the severe cold snap and the fishing sucked big time, but it's supposed to worm up a bit by this weekend. That will with out a doubt trigger the bite, and yes Zippel or morris pt. (which is closer to upper red) are both excellent choices.
I fished upper red last weekend too, very slow. Sounds like they're already starting to wake up. You'll be up there for a good weekend.
later, good luck and good fishin',
fishgutz

Was up to Zippel Bay last Sat. and it was really slow, but I figure the cold front moving in killed the action. Usually we do really well up there at this time of the year. Red Lake is always worth a stop.

On New Year's Day and the next Friday Morn, my brother, his son, and a friend caught many walleyes and saugers. They took their limits of both home. I think Friday aft the front started coming through. That was out of Zipple Bay. I'm going with them this weekend. He has his own sleeper and it's in 26 ft. Good luck to you (also us).

I was on Zipple on Wed 1/7. Set up in 35ft.
No action till 9:30, then fish went nuts!
Best morning i've ever had. A limit of nice eaters by noon. Played catch and release for another hour. Blue and white angle eye was really hot. Go deep and off by yourself if possible. Good fishing!

Went out of Zipple on Saturday, out past the crowd in 28-29 feet of water and had good action all day. No lunkers, but lots of 14-17" fish and a half dozen jumbos.
Keep the fun in it.
Brent
