St Cloud Area Lakes Ice Out Report

Recommended Posts

Borch

I drove by pleasant lake tonight near Rockville and it was about 90% open,  With this wind and rain coming I'm sure many will be ice free by the end of this weekend again.  Anyone else seeing any lakes open up?

Nothing open except the river in the LF area. Checked a small lake a few minutes from the house monday and was still 11-13 inches of ice. Was getting very honeycombed and melting quick. I would guess it shouldn't be too much longer if not far south things are opening.

Same for me driving my 1 ton diesel 16 miles out on LOW end of last week with over 3 feet of good ice.  Now lakes are mostly open at home.

Briggs is open as far as I could see.I will be out that way again tomorrow I'll get another glance and see if I spot some on a different side of the lake

Can't fix stupid! That crack, now forming a pressure ridge, about mid-lake, is plenty reason not to drive even a car out there. Won't take much to break that lake apart soon the way it was chuckin ice, especially rain. Some areas had 12". Hopefully the heavy rain stays away.
