We are looking to add a sales person to our Vadnais Heights, MN office. If you are unfamiliar with our company, we publish regional fishing and outdoor maps/information for the Midwest and East Coast. We’re well established and currently doing business at most your mom and pop shops as well as almost all the major outdoor outlets and big box stores.
We’re in the process of expanding into new markets and are in need of some sales support. This is a great opportunity for someone with no prior sales experience that wants to get their foot in the door and work for a growing company in the Outdoor field. Must be a self starter with excellent communication and interpersonal skills – AND must enjoy talking hunting and fishing of course….

Thanks and tight lines!
I wasn't exactly sure where I can post this, I believe there is a tournament/contest page also, but since it is ice fishing, I thought I'd post it here.
This is our 8th annual ice fishing contest held on Gervais Lake in Little Canada, MN. The lake is just north of Highway 36 on Edgerton street. We have parking in the beach lot and all around the beach area (walk out only). Portables are not allowed to fish in, but to use as a wind break is fine. We have lots of great fishing prizes including a Clam Stealth Thermal two-man, augers, electronics and many rod/reel combos. Tickets are $20 per hole (two hole max), register online or buy tickets at Joe's Sporting Goods, Hardware Hank Little Canada, Little Canada Bingo hall or Little Canada City Hall. www.lcraonline.org
In preparation for mt first trip to the Boundary Waters, I decided we might need a good, lightweight fish cradle to land the giant pike we're so sure to catch there. I shopped around and decided I could make one as good or better than what was available. After buying the materials needed, I ended up with enough to make more of them than my group needed. I'd like to trade for hook remover, jaw spreader, lure packs, or most anything useful to some rookie pike fishermen. I'll consider just about anything.
We have a couple openings if anyone is interested…We will be capped at 15 boats.

I discovered just recently that the May Township Board in Washington County MN is holding a public hearing on whether or not to block access to a public body of water from a public right a way. Stillwater is the county seat of Washington County. Specifically they want to stop you, hunters or fisherman from using Carnelian Creek to access Turtle Lake. This was brought to the attention of the May Township Board by the Carnelian-Marine St Croix Watershed District. When I talked with Jim Shaver, Administrator of the Watershed district, he said that the property owners that surround this creek and lake contacted him about hunting activity and potential trespassing on private property. The owners are also concerned about their animals that they have and dog trials that they hold on the property.
Jim Shaver also told me that the Watershed District is concerned that if someone got hurt using that waterway, that the Watershed District would be liable because the Watershed District improved the creek so that the water would drain from Big Marine Lake through this creek, eventually ending up at the St. Croix River. I do not believe that the Watershed District has any liability.
Jim Shaver said they then went to the Township Board with their concerns and the town board drafted an ordinance blocking access from a public right a way to a public water way.
I spoke with Bill Voedisch who is the May Township Chairman and he told me basically the same thing plus that the Watershed District is concerned about damage to a structure that is in the creek.
The public water is Carnelian Creek that flows out of Big Marine Lake into Turtle Lake. The location would be in May Township of Washington County. This is on 155th Street North just east of Manning Ave North. Manning Ave North runs north of Hwy 36. 155th Street is approximate 5 1/2 miles north of Hwy 36.
So, May Township is having a public hearing on March 1st at 7 PM at town hall, 13939 Norell Avenue North, Stillwater MN. If you can make the meeting and make your thoughts known that would be great. I can not be there as I will be out of town but the Township Supervisor told me that I could submit a letter expressing my concerns and it will be include. So if you can be there come, if you can't, you can submit a letter by email. Below is the contact info for the Chairman and the other two Supervisors.

John Pazlar-Supervisor, 651-433-5013, [email protected]

Does anyone know if there are any fish in the East Branch of Raven Stream? It's in the town of St Benedict, just north of New Prague? I'm thinking of buying a bit of land that happens to have this stream running through it, but I would only want it if there fish in the stream. I'm not too proud, it doesn't need trout in it, panfish and bullheads would suit me just fine. :)
Anybody familiar with this stretch of water?
Thanks in advance for any replies!
Im going to cenaiko lake tomorrow morning. Ive been there once before but got there mid day so didn't have the following issue.
Is there a way to get there before 6am when the coon rapids dam park opens?
im guessing before the park opens there is a gate at the enterance?
I want to get there around 430-5 so I don't miss the prime fishing time, being it opens at 6 that's a good amount of prime time wasted.
So my question, has anyone gone there (or the coon rapids dam park itself) before it opens at 6?
if so, how do u get in? I don't want to have to walk from the side streets all the way to the lake.
or is there a place to park closer to the lake outside the park area?
EDIT: It is okay to fish the lake before the park opens, there is a sign at the lake saying fishing is 1 hour before sunup until 11pm.
Im wanting to go and fish the missisippi river by my place, there is a little inlet with some down trees, a drop off and a little bridge that goes over the inlet.
Its off of east river road at the end of 79th. I believe its called riverview heights park.
My questions is, has anyone gone fishing there? I see people there quite often and have chatted with them a little bit, but haven't gotten much out of them.
It looks promising for some largemouth and catfish.
if you have fished there what works good? and are they biting now?
I will be there at about 5 am tomorrow morning.

By DLS1988 · PostedI was up last weekend(Memorial Day weekend) at the cabin on Birch Point. Where my electronics reading right that water was 64-66 degrees? Also tried up in the shallows in the pencil reads and sandy rocky bottoms of big bay, the side of the point our cabin is on, hoping to find crappies on beds, but nothing. Seems like the perfect area and water temp for all other lakes I’ve fished and there was nothin. Not a sight of beds or fish. Maybe there just isn’t good crappie numbers there? Anyone will to share some shallows for sight fishing on beds? And info on that water temp or what it currently is. and if that was right, is that still not warm enough for vermillion? Gonna be up the weekend of 6/5 to try again, and hoping to not miss it this week. Thank you
By Mr. 5 pounder · PostedThanks for the input, Patches and good to hear you did well in the area. Johnson lake is a memorable one for me. I fished there for the first time about two years ago around the last week of June and as soon as we drove past Frontier my pin clip for the boat trailer fell off. Never found out why and never happened again, but I noticed it gone at the launch. I was with a buddy of mine and my father, and I told them to just troll near the launch while I went back to look for the clip. After about 15 more minutes I found it in the middle of road, right outside Pine Cone Cafe. By the way, it was overcast with the occasional sprinkle, but the sun would spill out as well. When i got back to the launch I noticed my two fisherman pals where not eager to come pick me up. In about 20 minutes they caught 3 walleye trolling spinners in about the 10-12 foot weed line outside of the launch. We kept one feeling we were deserving giving the circumstance, but as soon as I got in the boat luck failed us again. We trolled the whole lake and only caught one more on the east side. The weather kept getting better which was probably the reason, but it seems like Johnson is like most likes in the area... where if there is a hot walleye bite its not going to last too long. My Dad went out on Burrows the other day and got nothing too exciting besides northern while fishing the same tactic. Thats one of our "go tos," but Im currenty not in the area, but getting there soon. Hopefully i bring better reports come as well. Good Luck

By chucker1101 · PostedSmallmouth should be on beds spawning. Good time to fish smallmouth. Fishing off shallow water off rocky islands on East side of Vermilion should be in play. Troll and throw spinners to shore. Look for line where big rocks end and small rocks/gravel starts.
