Went out north of town off the bank the other day and water level was super low for this time of year! Not much biting one guy said he caught a few suckers while targeting eyes.

Thanks for the update, Gopher. I try to get out to the Forks a couple times a year to target cats. Any info on a cat bite right now?

That's a bruiser! I usually get out there in June and then again in August/September, but have wanted to go earlier. Usually the water is too high then but sounds like that won't be an issue this year... Cut suckers/goldeye for the May bite?

@pikestabber if you can find frogs when you come that's my go to bait...otherwise cut up suckers and goldeye work well

Haven't been on the river in awhile. I have been hitting the lakes pretty hard lately and catching some dandy Walleye. Will get out soon and let yall know. I know the river is up pretty high at the looks of it from the rain and with the heat I'm sure the eyes have moved out away from the shoreline and into the deeper area mud flats vs spring when we were catching them super shallow along rock beds ...good luck
