Trying to find the best target for tuning broadheads, and still hit it with field tips. My bow speed now is just under 300 FPS and I do not want to throw money around trying to find one. What are people using? (Made the mistake asking a sales person on a target that did not label speed on it and got burned!!)

Thanks

I use Morrell Yellow Jacket Supreme II Crossbow Broadhead Target it is good for both. I know it is kind of spendy but it handles my crossbow bolts really well.

Moose, do the field points pull out easy?  Most broadhead targets are not designed for field points sense the tip gets so hot going into it whereas the broadheads cut and dont get very hot.  I have the yellow jacket for points and LOVE it. 20 years I have used the morrells. Then I have a separate target for broadheads.  Very hard to get a field point out when I have a brain fert and shoot into it. lol

210 $ for this one for both. yikes.  It's the only one Morrell recommends for points and broadheads.

They pull out pretty good. It is the target I carry in the truck when I go hunting to unload my crossbow.

I'm a block target guy. I am no way sponsored by them. But they are made in superior WI. I shoot mine with broadheads and field tips and it holds up. I have there older target model and it does the job.

If you only want to own one target, expect to buy a new target every year or two. My best advice is to have two seperate targets, one for FT's and the other for BH;s. The BH target will get chewed up from the blades, there isn't much you can do about that. However, if you've got a fast powerful bow, you will start shooting your field tip arrows up to the vanes or right through the target in no time.

I use a bag target from Cabelas for FT's and it has been going strong for years and cost only $50. My broadhead target is a true BH target with multiple densities of foam. It cost ~$50 several years ago. Its finally seeing the end of its life. I will continue to have seperate targets.

Gotta agree, 2 target is best.

I agree with 2 targets. I have 2 as well, but I carry the broadhead target when I go hunting because is is smaller and lighter. It works for unloading my crossbow.

Thanks for all the input!!!

I went with a Big Shooter Buck 3D Target from FF as it was on sale and had a rebate, could not pass it up. I mainly want it for really fine tuning of my BH's and for shooting from my stand in the back yard as I get closer to the season. I never have shot BH's for practice before and really wanted to see how different from points mine are.

I shot A LOT, almost everyday I go out and pop off a dozen or two shots.  Have a bag for FP's and love it. Also worried that shooting at the bag so much I would get target panic and blow my chance at a nice buck that is why I went with a 3D.
