First off I have fished this contest since day 1. Never killed a fish at the weigh in. I realize its after June 1st and technically its a catch n "kill" contest but we as fisherman need to do a way better job of bringing our fish to weigh in in great shape so we can release those big spawners. I saw way too many big fish dead on stringers and in nets or on peoples fingers. Please buy a tourney bag and fil it with water so those big fish can be released after weigh in. Everyone knows that there are big fish in the river so lets do everything we can to keep it that way. The TPWA does catch photo release for this reason.

Maybe we can get a volunteer to run a "hawg trough" for this event? Ill man it. I hate seeing so many 22" plus fish killed for a few hundred bucks if that. Any thoughts or anyone have a "hawg trough" we could use?

I have never fished this event but I agree 100%. I seen some big carcasses in the dumpster at the landing yesterday. I prefer to keep a couple 15"-19" for the table. Anything 20"+ I release, I caught a really nice 24" yesterday and she was released.

Agree Steve.  Problem yesterday, they did not have the additional docks in. It made for an interesting MESS..  People were trying to recover and others just docking to measure fish.  Maybe next year, they will work with DNR to see if they are in.  What a great day of fishing.
