What type of canoe is best for fishing?

I don't know squat about canoes and wonder if there is a certain style or type that is better for fishing, moving around in, and stability.

Kayak, more stable and more enjoyable.  I just got a Future Beach 144 angler at Costco for $399 came with paddle.  I have had a blast in the thing so far. My kids have as well.

Canoes and kayaks both have their time and place.

Are you looking for something to fish out of by yourself?  If so a kayak is probably going to be your best bet.  There are a ton of options out there starting at a couple hundred bucks and going up to several thousand.  All will have slightly different set ups and features and you'll probably find some will fit you better than others.  Its best to look at several to get an idea of what you might like and what might fit you the best.

Canoes tend to be a better option when you have 2 people.  They also offer some flexibility.  You can fish them solo if you want but can also fit two.  If you have the thought of a BWCA trip you can also use it for that. They are really more of an all purpose vessel but if your really only looking for solo fishing and the other uses aren't important then go kayak.

Thanks for the info!

Room for 2 is what I'm looking for and I'd also like to rig it with a trolling motor.
