Just an FYI for those of you who like to fish near the Monti power plant.  This morning a friend and I were confronted by a Wright County Sheriff boat manned by an officer and a plant personnel.  We were advised that "this side of the river is closed to boating and fishing". "You must operate on the north (east?) channel between the shoreline and the islands".  The channels between the islands apparently are off-limits too.  I asked "if it's closed, why isn't it posted as such?"  Their reply was "our buoys have been washed downstream".  On our return downstream we spotted one buoy just above Montissippi Park boat ramp and the other was about 1/3 mile upstream of the Hwy 25 bridge.  One would think that if they are going to the effort of having a patrol boat manned at the intake wall they would at least mark the restricted area appropriately.???

they get bored so they need to harass ppl to make them feel important.

You betcha by golly! Good luck with that, wonder what got their dander up? Impossible to enforce coming from the upstream side without buoying the whole stretch above the island. Even then they'll be spending a lot of time giving "warning tickets" maybe.  :cry::cry:

interesting indeed. I wonder if they will put markers upriver on the west side?  If it's really important you would think they would mark the P out of it. did it give you memories of the guy at the papermill mrJ ??  lol
