What does anybody know about Lake Francis near Isanti?  I know what the DNR site says.  Looks like very good crappie lake and even good walleyes for being only 7' deep!  Does the lake get really green in the summer time?  What keeps it from freezing out in the winter?  Thanks for any info!

The Lake is connected to the Rum River through an outlet. I have a friend who lives on the lake and he catches a some walleyes, but he gets most of them during the fall. This spring he caught some crappies, but he said the size was not what he is used too. The lake does turn green. The lake lacks structure, so the weed lines are normally a good starting place. I you are going to fish it I would do it soon before it warms up. My friend also said when the water gets warm the fish get mushy, so he fishes it until end of June and then after late September. If you have any other questions just ask or message me.

I've lived by that lake my whole life.

Not to many years ago I would have bet the farm that I'd never see anyone fishing on that sewage pond. Crazy
