Map of choice/How to get?

I've seen the thread before but could not find in a search.

 

We have a new Hummingbird Helix SI and looking to add the Vermilion contoured map. What is your favorite? Can you download just the Vermilion map from somewhere?

Pretty sure they take a Micro SD.. you would most likely need the Lake Master Minnesota chip.

Lake Master chip.  There is no Vermilion only choice that I know of.  The Lake Master chips are updated every year, with new HD lakes on them.  They're pretty cagey, in the stores, about telling you what year the SD was made (and hence what lakes are now have HD coverage).  When you find discounted Lake Master SD cards, they're usually old stock from previous years.  Good news is Vermilion has been on the yearly chip since 2009, so you can buy old stock and get HD for Vermilion.

I bought the 2014 Humminbird Lakemaster PLUS Minnesota chip from Amazon for $125. I really like the PLUS features.
