Put on a rapala, rebel, thunderstick or whatever stickbait you prefer and troll. You will cover water learning the structure present.Great way to learn a lake you have never been on.

Thanks expl.  We tried this and couldn't keep the hammer handles off.  I'll be up there again Memorial Day Weekend and will probably try drift fishing or jig/minnow.  That lake has so much structure that it makes it hard to find the walleyes.  I have heard that if you find them you will have a good chance at a big one.

Any other tips/advice is appreciated.

Thanks.

Yeah sometimes depending on the lake the pike can make that type of fishing difficult, maybe give it a try after dark. The pike are there to feed so there are baitfish in the area just that the walleyes may not be there in daylight. The pike bite should die down after dark, you may catch one here or there but I would say there will be walleyes also.If not at least you learned what doesnt work for future reference.

Any update for this Lake?  Going to be going there for a week starting on 6/20 and curious how the lake has been for fishing.  Would love to get into Walleye but hoping fishing is just good in general.

I've never had great luck catching many walleyes.  (disclaimer:  I am not a great fisherman)  You can catch as many hammer handles as you want and there are some nice bass in the lake.
