Suddenly Sunfish (and crappies).

Our "Guys" kind of opener is now spiced up by having 5 year old granddaughter and 14 y old sister of my sister in law coming to cabin. Ive Got to build in some fishing other than casting and trolling for Northern Pike and float fishing for the dwindling walleye. I used to sporadically get into good numbers of sunfish in Cove Bay at some point during the early summer transition but not confident of my timing. Not been up there yet this year. Other bays on south side lake? Local lakes worth checking (Sullivan, Smith, Whitefish , Bull Dog, Dam lake....) I am going up a day early to nail down some of these sure fire ways to sink a bobber and could use some help please! Pesky Perch would accomplish same per pose of giving these neophyte fisherman a good experience.

Platte/Sullivan have very good panfish populations. Lots of reed beds in both lakes and weed flats. I don't really target sunfish and I'm not gonna tell you what I know about Crappies, but you should be able to find one of the two with a little looking.

Platte can be a great action lake. Lots of pike action along with good panfish as well.
