Since the water level is starting quite low this spring, and not much rain in the long term forecast, could some of you "long timers" comment on how much lower it might get this summer if the drought continues? Could the dam at VDL be sandbagged to help raise the water level? Other thoughts?

The lake level is as low as I can remember it ever being at this time of the year! The level has come up a little since the last 1" of rain that we got and will likely rise more this spring. I am sure that we will get more rain before very long.

No sense to sand bagging the dam at VDL if there is no water going over it!

I have never heard of that being done anyway.

Low water usually makes for good fishing in the spring anyway! laugh

Looking at a pic of my rail system last weekend in the water and another pic taken last September I would say it is within a couple inches of last slept embers level. We definitely need a little rain.

Thanks Cliff, I went through Oak Narrows yesterday, the "main" narrow channel looks like you could see some more lower units taken if you are not careful. Matt, at Timbuktu, said you can't be sure the bouys might shift, with the wakes created. I'm going to use the Northern (around Oak island) "zig zag" route instead, just to be safe.
