Does anyone know of a good paper map for fishing with the contours of the bottom. I have a McKenzie map which is good for navigation, and I do have the SD card on my gps unit in the boat which works well. But it would be nice to lay a large map on the table to look at.Thanks Bobcat

Hey Bobcat. Have you tried the Minnesota Bookstore ? I have received , I believe , just what you want from them. It has been a few years since I used them , but I have a couple phone numbers for you to check out. They are ,612-297-3000 or toll free , 800-657-3757. Hope this works for ya . Let me know how it pans out for you.. Good luck.

Sorry, the only place the Namakan map shows is on the 2015 printed map list PDF. It doesn't show up on any other list, and I searched the Hot Spots website for it with no success. Maybe it's a new map and the rest of the website hasn't caught up. You might want to give them a call. 1-800-ALL-MAPS

I have a Lake Masters paper map that is the same detail as the chip. I believe I got it at Cabelas.

Thanks for the input, I checked the MN bookstore website. They offer a DNR map which probaly is not to much in detail. And also a Hot Spot map which seems fairly easy to find. h8go4s I was mainly looking for Kab anyway so from what I see the Hot Spot map is available. Bigfatbert I did some searching online for Lakemaster paper map of Kab and couldn't come up with anything. I don't live to far from Cabelas so I'll check them out. How long ago did you get yours? I know things have changed over the years. Bobcat45

Yes the DNR maps available at Minnesota Bookstore show contour lines and depths , and also bottom types ,such as sand , muck , rock , rubble . Wich I find interesting.

If your just looking for a chart type paper map of Kabetogama , I believe that you should be able to purchase one at the "Bait n Bite " bait / restaurant store up at lake Kabetogama. When you turn east off of Hwy 53 , at the big walleye statue, it's a mile or two on the right side. These are the yellow paper charts. Should be able to get Kab ,Namakan ,Rainy . Hope this helps you out.

There are some DNR maps that show bottom content, but most don't in my experience. And they are in 10-foot contours, done 50 years ago or more with a weight and rope.

Gateway Store has the maps you speak of. Hot Spot maps of all 4 lakes and even a high def map of Kab. Saw them last weekend when I was up there!
