Hi All,

I won't be able to get to the cabin before opener. Just wondering where the spawn is at and any current water temps on the Crow Wing chain or other lakes nearby? Gotta get my plan of attack ready smile

Thanks!

I drove around this weekend and recorded some water temps. I didn't bring the boat up cause we were working on trail maintenance so I had no opportunity to observe spawning activity.

Since the water temps are above 40F and we are having some nice warm sunny weather...walleye spawn has begun and I'm pretty sure the N. Pike are all done! I'm no expert but my guess with the warm weather this week that most walleye spawning will be completed this week.

On saturday (4/25/2015) the surface water temperature at the boat landings were as follows (all degrees farenheight using my IR thermometer):

Itasca: 44.2

Eagle: 43.6

Potatoe: 45.4

Long: 46.2

Hope that helps

Awesome, thank you!

Hopefully then get done soon. It would be nice to be able to find them easily instead of the wonderful post spawn hit and miss that happens so often.
