I picked up a lowrance elite 5hdi and have had it out a couple times now, I'm completely new to these kind of sonars(mostly ice fished before)...Any tips you guys can offer would be awesome...Do you guys use auto sens.or do you guys do it manually...Is there a certain speed that DI works the best at?? Do you guys like the screen going as fast as it can or is there a benefit to going slower....any little tips like that would be greatly appreciated....Also when I had my unit out last night i had the split screen 2D/DI and I went over a tree and I tried to stop the screen with the cursor and only the top half(2d) stopped and the di kept scrolling...Is there a certain thing you have to do to get both screens to stop?? Also are there any good DVDs that explain sonars...From a quick search online Doc Samson seems to be a common one...Also I remember a while back a forum of people posting screenshots of their sonars and interpreting what you were seeing can anyone share the link where that was??Thanks for any help I want to get the most out of this unit. ...

There isn't a single question about your unit that will go unanswered here...

The forums ar BassBoatCentral are highly populated by very knwowledgable pros and amateurs who are willing and eager to share what they know. I have had a membership at that forum for 6 years since I bought my first pre-owned boat, and no matter what the topic, BBC folks have always had an answer.

Post your question, and you'll have an answer soon.
