The way I read it is two guys (one the victim) DROVE to the WI side to confront the grounp of 3 younger guys. So in my head I envision both groups fishing across from each other from shore and arguing....? Weird situation. Sad to say this maybe could have been avoided if the victim hadn't drove to the other side looking for a fight.

A sad story, and I feel terrible for his family. They have to deal with the ramifications of his decisions and actions.

Kelly is clearly the victim of murder, but appears not to be a victim of the altercation. If everything happened as laid out in the article, someone of his age and responsibility should have known better than to escalate the situation. If there was something egregious going on such as poaching or something illegal, he should have called TIP or the police.

Not sure how a jury will look at this or how lawyers will explain it but driving over to confront someone and looking for a fight isn't going to play well for the victim either. Words are one thing actions are another.

Tough guys...

One left 5 kids fatherless.

Other might spend good part of his life behind bars.

Respect goes a long way both ways.

Being able to walk away from a situation worth 1000x more then one's pride to have to confront anyone about some hooting and hollering.
