Spool Loading

Received a manual reel line spool er for xmas. Time to give it a try. Couple of questions 1. Since this a level wind spooler, going on a spinning reel, do you take the line off the top or bottom or does it not matter. Second, how much tension should be used. This is for mono and such line not braid

When spooling line on a spinning reel, you put the line on the same way the reel will wind it on, obviously.

95% of reel line goes on the bottom when the spooler is turning counter clockwise, and must come off the bulk spool of line the same way, bottom to bottom, top to top.

If you spool the line backwards, it will spring off the spinning reel like a slinky when the bail is open.
