Please post lakes in Wright County as you see them open up.

I checked out a few lakes today. Deer Lake is 98% open, just some ice blown up close to shore, but the access was clear. Ann Lake by Howard Lake was open, Winsted Lake was open, Fountain Lake was open, Buffalo Lake had some scattered open areas but was mainly locked up as well as Howard Lake, and Crawford Lake was completely open.

Schimt lake looked to be clear of ice last night. Beebe was 1/3 open, Constance, Dean and Rock were also really ice covered. will be interesting to check Charlete and Martha on my way home tonight. Boat will need the last minute cleaning and battery charger plugged in over night.

Still trying to talk wife into fishing Easter Sunday.

Only ice I could see on buffalo was by the courthouse. Rest of the lake looked open.

Anybody know if Sylvia is open?

If there are still any lakes around here that aren't open, they will be within the next couple days. Rain, sun, upper 60sº - low 70ºs... stick a fork in the ice - it's done.

Due to limited time, I may only have a few opportunities to get out and fish which means only a drive or two to the lake for a few hours with the kiddo before it's already full-on summer fishing. I might be crazy enough to join the combat fishermen on shore for crappies and know of a few spots in the area, but have never really gave much thought as to how long after ice out before I can find crappies from shore. I usually just get out when I can and usually end up hearing stories about it being great last week.

How long from now do you guys think I should wait before driving down there after work or on weekends?

I think there is a chance they might move in shallow next weekend, but I would think 2 weeks for sure. I've always heard they spawn once the water gets above 60 degrees. It was 45 on Cedar today, but I didn't try fishing.
