I went down to the spot on Walker where they net the spawning walleyes, but they had it gated and wouldnt let me in to look at the walleyes. My question is...why not let the public in? isnt this our tax dollars at work?

If they still have the gates up, that means the walleyes are not yet ready to spawn. Wait until the ice is gone and it will be open.

Don't you come on here every year and say the same thing or is that the other bison wannabe fan that lives with his mom on ottertail

Hey, what's wrong with a guy living at his mom's cabin?

So when do the walleye start running into Walker lake?

Anyone get over to see the activities? Wondering what kind of year they are having with the egg taking.

I stopped by on Saturday morning. They had just started a day or so before. Lots of other fish in the nets, mostly rough fish but some dandy walleyes. More to come I am sure.

My parents and I were out there about 4PM on Saturday (4/25) and about 9:30 on Sunday morning (4/26). They were all very friendly and approachable, and we were more than welcome to go on the docks in small groups. Lots of large ladies ready to drop eggs and plenty of randy young walleyes there to contibute to the cause, too. I'd say a solid quarter of the females were over 26" with a few touching the 30" mark. I'll try to get some pix up soon

I guess you might have caught them on a bad day, again lakesbisonguy/BisoNation/lakesbison.
