New Trout Lake Portage contractor,

We got the call last Friday.

Thanks to all who supported us through the application process.

I have worked at the portage 8 years for Jim Zak.

Jim did a great job at the portage for 16 seasons.

The portage hours and price of $35.00 a round trip will be the same.

All of the previous crew is returning including Jim part time.

We will open May 7 at 3:00-7:00 pm.and 7 days a week through Labor day.

Good news, Lonnie. I believe you mentioned to me last fall that you would be submitting a bid. Say, are the hours of operation a typo? I am assuming (hoping) that you will also be open in the morning throughout the season to accommodate us "day-trippers".

I was thinking the same thing. I'm looking forward to doing several day trips.

Portage is open May 1-6 and September 8 - October 18

by appointment.

May 8-July 31,7-11 and 3-7 pm.

August is 7-10 and 4-7.

We plan to set up a Website for the portage.

It's looking like will have open water late April.
