Bablers Road

Recommended Posts

Denny's Outdoors Sports latest report said he was plowing it this year, but it will be his last.

The rumor of him selling is true, it's listed on Reed Realty I believe.

Call me a glass half empty type of guy, but I'll be surprised if the road makes it far this season. The satellite shows some nasty ice in that area. It's a tough road with flat ice, let alone jagged stuff.

I believe it is already sold, know someone that has a year round trailer in the campground and by this march it has to be gone, reason being it was sold. No one knows who the new owner is but we can all guess they are just west of him??

I had heard it was sold also, but buyer was the MN DNR, they have all the land east of him and that is where the new public landing was supposed to go.

I just looked at Reed Realty's HSOforum and it is still listed and it has dropped to 1.5 mil. It originally listed at 2 mil.

Right on Todd and thats been the rumour for a few years as well. Not that I mind paying to launch at Rock Harbor but man that parking situation can be trying at times.

I'd like to see the DNR put in a campground, fish cleaning shack and a Protected launch with plenty of parking and such back there. It'd be so nice if they spent some of their Ka-ching on "us" LOL !!

You been out that way fishing yet Todd ??

I'm fine with the idea of a public access but by the time the DNR is done with this it will be 3-4 million more of our tax dollars spent. Surely there is cheaper land to buy.

I guess when the income that Lake of the Woods/Sportsman starts generating more income for the state than the Twins and Vikings perhaps they will alot some of that money to the resources up here. Until then....don't hold your breath on seeing any huge state funded improvements or additions. However there will be more regulation and rules and fines for not following those that will affect us and generate more income for them that we will never see recirculated back to this area. Remember everyone: The northern boundry of the state of MN is HWY 2!!!

What I really wanna know is:   How’d get that lattice to curve like that?  Bomb diggity!

Fish Newton lake is great for walleyes. Everyone goes to basswood and forgets about newton. The late fall pike bite in pipestone is amazing and it’s a great time to catch the big walleyes are up there feeding too.

It would cost you 830 bucks to watch every game this NFL season under multiple platforms.   I don't have peacock or espn+ or whatever they want me to have, so I'll just have to relent on being able to watch a few games.  I refuse to cave in to their demands just to watch the Packers play the Eagles in Brazil.  I think last year peacock had the exclusive rights to the Miami/KC playoff game too.  I'm sure that will occur again in January.

Well it's a win, but it wasn't to Purdy with all the turn overs and penalties!

Oop, must be another Vikings game.  So far it's been a Prudy game, Viks!  😁

Another prediction.   Under the cloud of "Woke Inclusion" Just like the Mn state flag and the Mn Twins, the Vikings name will be going away in a few years! Their already making them look like Snow flakes!  We can't have the uniforms of angry Norwegian people!  Sounds funny but. Wait for it! 😒

Just sayen, not all the loyal old fans, can pay for the NFL viewing package!

New frontiers.  Expand the market; make more money.  Despite some PR moments, they’re not in it for charity.   BUT, they might want to take a moment and see how that worked out for NASCAR.  Not that having to buy premium channels to watch races was the only problem but it sure helped kill the fever for a lot of people.

Get ready. Any bets in a few years the average Joe NFL fans aren't going to be able to watch their local teams, unless it's pay for view!  Sounds like their greasing the wheels now.  There are 5 international games this year! ☹️ "The NFL will play a regular season game in Madrid, Spain in 2025, as the NFL prioritizes global growth and expands the International Games to new cities and markets around the world."
