Portable lighting question

Recommended Posts

My son and I have a Clam Command Post. We have the usual lighting options, headlamps, hole lights (Clam) and lanterns. I sent for a strip of those LED's to clamp right onto a 12 volt battery. These seem pretty bright and light weight, so I was wondering if anyone had some cool ideas of how to suspend, fix, or attached these lights. I believe its about 20 feet of light. Seems to me something to put up after the pop-up is up? Thanks if anyone has ideas!

This light is what I have used all of last year and it has a small hook on the end. I put a loop of thin rope around one of my poles in my voyager to hang it on. It was as bright as my lantern and I did not have to deal with the lantern taking up space. It also has a strong magnet on the bottom and this comes in handy for lighting up the bed of the truck when packing up. It is nice not to have to worry about the lantern falling over when loading my gear. The batteries that came with it I finally replaced last week because the light was not as bright as it once was, but the new batteries fixed that.It takes 3 aa batteries and it ran for full ice fishing season last year on one set, but I do not fish that much after dark. I got a new flip over this year and it has the light bar, but I will also use this light again to light up the tub and for packing up.full-12169-51711-snaponlight.jpg

what type 12volt battery you running? I'm looking at a convertor 12v to 110 for led bulbs. Could be interesting to see how it works.

I only have like 4ft strip and I zip tied it over the door pole and it stays there...more than enough light but with 20 ft dtro's idea looks great

I just use one or two of the Clam small light bars tucked up under the roof poles and point them down. they light up my hub very well.

Someone else told me about the Rayovac Sportsman lantern. Supposedly a 240 lumen LED that runs 150 hours on 3 D batteries. I'd have to see how much that lights up a house.

Yeah I use the clam velcro light bars as well and they work great for my two man pop up. I was wondering where you order/buy the LED rope lights for your portable? Can't seem to find them for some reason.
