Beacon Harbor/ Waskish Minnow Station

John and Ann Westphall at Beacon Harbor Resort will be taking over the Waskish Minnow Station houses this winter. We have been getting busier every winter and it has become too much for Patsy and me at our ages. While working out of Beacon’s Harbor last winter we couldn’t help but notice how hard John and Ann worked and how well they treated people. At the same time John and Ann noticed that some of the nicest people on the lake were our customers. I think this will work out very well and we are very comfortable with how John and Ann will take care of “our” customers. Our customers were very important to us. Time and time again the CO’s told us that some of the nicest people on the lake were the people in our houses. That meant a lot to us and we thank “our” customers for that. The change of ownership took place some time ago but John and Ann kept “our” houses open until “our” customers had time to book with Beacon’s Harbor for the houses and dates they wanted to keep the transition as smooth as possible.

Patsy and I will both be working for Beacon Harbor this winter. Through the decades I have seen a lot of people and business come and go in the URL area. I feel that John and Ann are doing things right and will be here for a long time. It will be enjoyable for us to watch Beacon Harbor grow.

Kelly,

Now who is going help me find my way out on the lake?

I think we will just put a Follow Me sign on the back of your truck and then sit back and watch the chaos. grin

Nice to see your going to be able to settle down a bit Kelly. You have helped thousands of people out. One question though. "Do we need a extension on our augers?" winkcrazy

Kelly as you know Patsy sent an email out informing us of the change over. I have 3 trips booked with Beacon Harbor and look forward to working with Ann and John. We worked with them when we accessed the lake there on the way to your houses, and as yo stated they are nice folks and work very hard.

That being said, Thank You and Patsy for some truly memorable times the past years under your watchful eye. You are going to be missed, but hope you can pop in and say HI if you're near our house. Your knowledge of the lake and care of customers will never be forgotten. Thanks again, and you two enjoy your new venture, we'll see you at the resort.......

PS rods are re spooled, all have 16' of line, shoud be plenty smile

leech,

Check out "red lake remote" and you will see what Jon is up to.... pretty awesome to say the least.

Kelly, Dylan and I have our house booked with John for the Monday/Tues after Xmas. We are bringing a friend of Dylans and his dad, who have never stayed in a sleeper before (or fished Red for that matter), so it should be a blast grin When I told his friend that we drove the truck out to the sleeper his eyes went really wide LOL.

Happy Thanksgiving, and hope to see you when we are up!

Sounds like the time I took my Bor-in-law from Texas out on Mille Lacs his first time ever on ice and the ice heaved not far from us and water shot up our holes! shocked

Have fun it looks like Jonny has a pretty nice setup and I have always wondered why no one does tracks on other big lakes but LOW? Bring the sleds?

What I really wanna know is:   How’d get that lattice to curve like that?  Bomb diggity!

Fish Newton lake is great for walleyes. Everyone goes to basswood and forgets about newton. The late fall pike bite in pipestone is amazing and it’s a great time to catch the big walleyes are up there feeding too.

It would cost you 830 bucks to watch every game this NFL season under multiple platforms.   I don't have peacock or espn+ or whatever they want me to have, so I'll just have to relent on being able to watch a few games.  I refuse to cave in to their demands just to watch the Packers play the Eagles in Brazil.  I think last year peacock had the exclusive rights to the Miami/KC playoff game too.  I'm sure that will occur again in January.

Well it's a win, but it wasn't to Purdy with all the turn overs and penalties!

Oop, must be another Vikings game.  So far it's been a Prudy game, Viks!  😁

Another prediction.   Under the cloud of "Woke Inclusion" Just like the Mn state flag and the Mn Twins, the Vikings name will be going away in a few years! Their already making them look like Snow flakes!  We can't have the uniforms of angry Norwegian people!  Sounds funny but. Wait for it! 😒

Just sayen, not all the loyal old fans, can pay for the NFL viewing package!

New frontiers.  Expand the market; make more money.  Despite some PR moments, they’re not in it for charity.   BUT, they might want to take a moment and see how that worked out for NASCAR.  Not that having to buy premium channels to watch races was the only problem but it sure helped kill the fever for a lot of people.

Get ready. Any bets in a few years the average Joe NFL fans aren't going to be able to watch their local teams, unless it's pay for view!  Sounds like their greasing the wheels now.  There are 5 international games this year! ☹️ "The NFL will play a regular season game in Madrid, Spain in 2025, as the NFL prioritizes global growth and expands the International Games to new cities and markets around the world."
