Rush Lake East or West

From reading reports and past experience it seems that I'd be better off driving to Rush instead of up to Mille Lacs from Woodbury.

Does anyone else think that makes sense?

I just haven't had that great of luck on Mille Lacs plus it looks to be on a down turn. I have never fished Rush but it just seems to make sense. I am more of a C&R panfish guy as it is but don't mind a walleye or two mixed in and Rush looks to have it all at half the drive.

West rush is a pretty good multi species lake.

fsnrod is correct. Rush is a great multispecies lake. Walleyes on early ice can generally be caught on any of the many underwater points at dusk and later fishing anywhere from 15 - 18 feet.

Guys in other forums found ~10 inches on W Rush. Not sure where they were at on the lake, but should give you an idea to go from.

Never fished the lakes as well. Which one would be better for crappies IYO?

And is it easier to get on one lake then the other with a sled and porty with a trailer packing spot?

I think west has more and better parking if I remember right. I usually only fish west. Not saying one is better than the other though.

Some of the better places to fish are right next to the landing on west. Only problem is that you'll be fishing with the circus. I think it's a Great Lake to walk on because of so much structure close to the landing.
