Would the Mayo Clinic, church and/or police be opposed to letting you send a few bottle rockets or roman candles their way to scare them off?

Del.....you need to find yourself one of these and prance around in the yard wearing it. That should take care of your crow problem.

I didn't ask if it was illegal, I asked if it was unethical.

It is at least as ethical as food plots snd salt licks for deer. Besides it is my property and it is ok to do whatever I want on my property because it is my property and to restrict my use is a total communist socialist conspiracy.

I don't know about the suit but they have tried fireworks and lasers etc and failed. I'm wondering about spiced corn...

Are they black crows? Cause that was a pretty good band, not sure why you'd want scare them away. How many do you think there are? Cause I kinda liked counting crows too.

I use to eat a lot of Black Crows when ice fishing, until I pulled a gold crown off! cry

My wife was pi$$ed, no more Black Crows! wink

If anyone knows how to "take care of" crows, I need advice. No firearms please, the Mayo Clinic gets upset at shotguns across the street in the yard of our church. The police do too.

Think "Plop,Plop. Fizz Fizz.

Only until the government comes and takes it away from you.

I think I'm setup in the wrong spot....empty bucket tonight. Wind shifted and they didn't pick up the Skippy scent, I think. But, noticed a nice rub on a stud edge. He's a biggin'! Should I setup closer to the rub?

Yeah set up in the same tree and make a mock scrape. I heard hot 100 can work from time to time.

Got one!!!

This am!! Caught it in a trap in the rod storage compartment in my boat. Thanks to the poster who suggested trapping in boat storage areas. Went outside to feed my dog and turned on the garage lights and decided to peek in the boat to see if I had any luck and there it was!

Not a trophy mouse by any means but it will be meat in the freezer

Not trapping, but I popped two with the 22 under the bird feeder at dawn's crack. Nothing big, but they'll sure taste good.

Good catch nothing like opening the boat in the spring and having carpet and wiring chewed on! mad

I think my season is over? Nothing in the garage for the last two weeks. I either trapped them all out or the Wolves moved them somewhere else? frown

My brother called from up at the cabin. He got a radio collared one last night! Man, what a Thanksgiving!

He's gonna call it in to the State next week.

Are the radio collared mice legal to harvest? And will he get to keep the collar or does he have to turn it in?

Ufatz, that is quite an accomplishment. Maybe it was from a mouse farm? Could have had CMWD (Chronic Mouse Wasting Disease)

I was blanked again last night but my neighbors brother in law got one but there's a bit of controversy. Seems his niece and him were both hunting and she winged one and he finished it off. It was a nice one and now they have a controversy. The niece is 7 years old and I could hear her crying and the Uncle was yelling at her. I think he'd been drinking a bit and the kid was overly tired since it was 11pm. Heard they may flip a coin or play rock/paper/scissors to decide who tags it. I hope the kid does the right thing and gives the mouse to her Uncle, obviously that's the right thing to do at least in Wisconsin.

Was it wearing a pink ribbon? I think I saw it on a FB page.

The Birds of Prey are eating all our mice!! We need to wipe them out. I didn't see as many mice as last year. It's because there are too many owls wiping them out!!

ID help please.

Found this guy this morning. I know it is not a vole or a house mouse, has colorings of a field mouse, but not convinced it is one. Would really like to add it into the wild rice hotdish for today's meal, but without knowing exactly what it is am tentative. It was not there yesterday, so am sure the meat is still good with the cold temps last night. Thanks ahead for any help.

PB, that would be your classic manbearpigtulatulawingedhousefieldbatbouse.

The coloration and shape of the ears tells me it's a male of the species.

Good catch. They taste great with Loon eggs.

that looks my nieces pet Flying Mouse. She lost it last week he has a tattoo in his right ear, says:

"If found please call 320-555-2323"

Problem is she changed her phone number so we figured sooner or later it would end up this way if it was lost. He was 14 years old and his eyes were going and they have been pondering putting him down but didn't have the heart. Looks like he died the way he would have wanted.

Thanks guys, was a little concerned it might have been a chubramousecabra and everything I read about them was that the meat might be gamey. LL, tell your niece there was not a tag in the ear. Hope her pet finds it's way back home. Had a pet beetle run away when I was about her age. The not knowing is hard.....

With the early ice out, how is the curlyleaf pondweed doing?

On the south end...   The big basin, otherwise known as Big Traverse Bay, is ice free.  Zippel Bay and Four Mile Bay are ice free as well.  Everything is shaping up nicely for the MN Fishing Opener on May 11th. With the walleye / sauger season currently closed, most anglers are targeting sturgeon and pike.  Some sturgeon anglers are fishing at the mouth of the Rainy River, but most sturgeon are targeted in Four Mile Bay or the Rainy River.  Hence, pike are the targeted species on the south shore and various bays currently.   Pike fishing this time of year is a unique opportunity, as LOW is border water with Canada, the pike season is open year round. The limit is 3 pike per day with one being able to be more than 40 inches. All fish 30 - 40 inches must be released. Back bays hold pike as they go through the various stages of the spawn.  Deadbait under a bobber, spinners, spoons and shallow diving crankbaits are all viable options.   Four Mile Bay, Bostic Bay and Zippel Bay are all small water and boats of various sizes work well. On the Rainy River...  Great news this week as we learned sturgeon will not be placed on the endangered species list by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service.     The organization had to make a decision by June 30 and listing sturgeon could have ended sturgeon fishing.  Thankfully, after looking at the many success stories across the nation, including LOW and the Rainy River, sturgeon fishing and successful sturgeon management continues.   A good week sturgeon fishing on the Rainy River.  Speaking to some sturgeon aficionados, fishing will actually get even better as water temps rise.     Four Mile Bay at the mouth of the Rainy River near the Wheeler's Point Boat Ramp is still producing good numbers of fish, as are various holes along the 42 miles of navigable Rainy River from the mouth to Birchdale.   The sturgeon season continues through May 15th and resumes again July 1st.   Oct 1 - April 23, Catch and Release April 24 - May 7, Harvest Season May 8 - May 15, Catch and Release May 16 - June 30, Sturgeon Fishing Closed July 1 - Sep 30, Harvest Season If you fish during the sturgeon harvest season and you want to keep a sturgeon, you must purchase a sturgeon tag for $5 prior to fishing.    One sturgeon per calendar year (45 - 50" inclusive, or over 75"). Most sturgeon anglers are either a glob of crawlers or a combo of crawlers and frozen emerald shiners on a sturgeon rig, which is an 18" leader with a 4/0 circle hook combined with a no roll sinker.  Local bait shops have all of the gear and bait. Up at the NW Angle...  A few spots with rotten ice, but as a rule, most of the Angle is showing off open water.  In these parts, most are looking ahead to the MN Fishing Opener.  Based on late ice fishing success, it should be a good one.

Nice fish. I moved to the Sartell area last summer and just thought it was windy like this everyday up here? 🤭

Crazy windy again today.... This is has been the norm this spring. Between the wind and the cold fronts, fishing has been more challenging for me than most years.  Panfish have been moving in and out of the shallows quite a bit. One day they are up in the slop, the next they are out relating to cabbage or the newly sprouting lilly pads.  Today eye guy and I found them in 4-5 ft of water, hanging close to any tree branches that happened to be laying in the water.  Bigger fish were liking a 1/32 head and a Bobby Garland baby shad.   Highlight of the day way this healthy 15incher
