Went out today and I will try to explain where I was so it makes sense, if you have any questions go ahead and ask.

Mazaska from Bull Rush Bay access 2.5 - 4 went out past the second bunch of cat tails and weeds, ice was thicker but then dropped off again to 2.5 inches so I backed off. COuldnt really see if the ice changed thickness becuase of snow and frozen slush.

Kelly lake - 4" where i drilled a few holes, there was a guy fishing about 3/4 of the way across had a tip up out and in his flip over, so i was assuming there was roughly 3.5-4 " throughout the lake. Typically one of the first to freeze well.

French lake (hoys resort access) - 50yds out ice around 3-3.5 inches went across the break (visably break in ice where two parts froze together happens every year) over the break was about 4 - 5" of ice only went out about 200-250 yds out. wind was blowing like a son of a

Roberds (by winjims resort) went out, about 100yds ice thickness was down to about 1.75 inches. Furthest behind but the access is the best I have seen in YEARS so lets try to keep it that way guys.

Cedar public access (by lemieux) - SOmeone was out maybe yesterday or 2 days ago walked from public assess towards the point/sand bar found a solid 3-4 inches with frozen slush above that. went as far as about 250 yds out drilled a hole, heard a huge crack, finished my hole measured about 2.5-3" of ice. about an inch of water on top of ice. I didnt go any further.

I know I didnt go real far out, i didnt have my picks, life jacket, a buddy, or decent clothes to be out messing around and taking chances. I forsee min of 5 inches of ice on all lakes except roberds by this weekend. I also think that the ice on the N side is the weakest due to prolonged sun exposure. WIsh i could have dropped a line, but I have homework to do. Will probably go out this weekend though.

Awesome! Thanks for the updates on the ice thickness! I'll be heading out soon to Cedar in new prague to check ice thickness, and hopefully toss in a line.

Walked out on Washington. Saw an average of 4" of good solid ice. Didn't walk far into bakers but there was a 4 wheeler sitting over the hole. Plan on walking out there Saturday. Didn't check anywhere around the north access.

Had to rescue a buddy this a.m on the south side of Madison lake. He fell through and was traveling very light. The snow diffenatly didn't help.

Fish north shore on Washington last night with not one tug on the line. Ice seamed fine 5" were I drilled.

Out checking some local lakes and found both Circle and Fox to be spotty. Ended up on Mazaska with 6-7" of good ice all the places I checked. One you drilled a hole it got slushy in a hurry. Thank goodness for Gore Tex! Spent about 45 mins looking for fish between 17-25 feet. Finally started marking at 24' and had fish on the Vex all day long, but only 2 light bites and no fish through the ice. Had fish tight on the bottom as well as suspended up to 8' off.

Come this weekend, we are going to see a very extended stretch of warmer weather. Highs in the low 40s possibly for a 10 plus day period.

Saw two shacks on the south side of Cannon Lake this morning while I was driving by, about 200-300 yards off of shore.
