Ice reports?

Seeing any build up on the ponds in the neck of your woods? I was watching a pond a in rollag two weekends ago that was pretty well protected by the wind and that had some ice but it wasn;t very deep either. with that nasty wind we had Friday nothing was left.

I have a feeling i will be out in two more weekends, possibly three, as long as the temps stay cold and we don't get a bunch of wind.

Lets get some info any small lakes starting to ice over. Not asking if its safe to go fishing just if we are making any progress.

I have heard of some bays starting to ice over now on smaller lakes. personally havent seen it yet. I still need to get out this weekend on some bigger water and run some stabil through my boat.

I went by Prairie yesterday and it looked to be about half froze over. Won't be long. I'd bet there will be people fishing hard water this weekend.

Silver lake had about 3" of ice yesterday. Still too early, but probably this next weekend!!!!

There was a guy on Tamarac Lake this morning when we drove back from Deer camp. I slowed up and watch him drill a couple holes. it took him 3-4 turns, so I would guess that is about 3"??

I was in the Park Rapids area this last weekend and almost all the lakes had been frozen over by Sunday. I didn't see any brave souls but we will be definitely fishing by thanksgiving.

Fished tonight. There wasn't as much ice as I expected. 3" at most and I only had the stones to walk out about 50 yds. I'll be giving it another few days before venturing out further.

FYI, rumor has it 2 guys fell through a very small lake in 9 fow just north of DL. Needless to say, fish with a friend right now, carry ice picks, and be excessively careful.

made it out yesterday and found 7 inches of good ice. Was a little bit of water on the ice by the time we left. Dont know how it is after today but I will be out adventuring tomorrow. Fishing wasnt great at all. I was pretty disappointed to say the least. Time to try some new lakes.
