Geese

Are there any geese around the big pond or did they all move south with this cold weather coming in? We were hoping to sneak in a last weekend of waterfowl Nov 21-24 but looks as though we may freeze by then.

The way it is looking all of the huntable water will be froze and since deer season will still be open that weekend, you cant field hunt without wearing orange. I did not see a lot of geese around this weekend when I was hunting.

Your call but I would not camoflage myself out in a field where people can drive by and shoot deer.

We do it every year, including during youth hunt, never had issues with anyone stopping and looking let alone shooting at us. Would be good to have an orange hat, light, or something to wave around if someone were to stop on the road though.

I can't really add to the original question though if the birds are still up there or if it will be iced over.

I figure the river will still have water so I would think there should be some birds around.

There were 8 honkers in the parking lot at Bugsys resort today not sure what they were looking for as tBostic bay is froze up tight.

It'll be too late. I have prime fields up there and it's always over by second weekend of deer. This year is colder than most. Bring up the ice fishing gear and stop by red lake instead. The ice should be walkable by then.

Everything is frozen solid up there. River locked up on Friday. Did not see any geese around anywhere.
