I am here Wally diver. Have not been on here very much lately just have been getting all 12 houses ready for the ice. Lots to do but almost there. Yes the very first thing I got ready for ice is our pride and joy suzuki samurai's. We will continue giving early ice rides with them and putting you on the hottest bites. See you very soon.

Hi Justin. I was wondering if once there is enough ice for a 16' Ice Castle, if your service pulls them out onto the ice with your Suzuki's for a charge? Where are you out of?

Yes we will. We usually start pulling out fish houses with the suzuki samurai once there is 9 inches of ice depending on the size of house of course. We run out of rogers resort on the south shore of red lake. Good luck fiahing and see you very soon. Justin b

Yes gravel lizard we will be renting out fish houses on shore this year. The houses will be placed on the ice about 20 feet off the shore line. Short walking or four wheeler distance from your favorite hot spots. The price is $25 a guy. See you soon. Good luck fishing. Justin b

The bite has been pretty consistent until today. We had 30 mph winds and some snow today. Blizzard conditions at time. There were still a few houses out. Our guys said it was tough but managed to get a good meal out of it. Most were using small buckshots or anything that made a lot of noise. Water is still stained up a bit. Good luck fishing

Justin weather permitting I plan on heading up Monday and Tuesday with a friend. Do you think the colder temps, snow, and wind will shut them down on Monday? Have you noticed if the water is clearing up any? Thanks!

Water was still cloudy today. Tougher bite today, we caught fish but 8 hours on the ice I was hoping to have more success than what we did.

The bite was all over the place yesterday. We had some of our guys very slow and some did not start till afternoon and had over 25 fish. Overall the bite has been slower then normal. We are not seeing 40 to 50 days like usual but lots of limits coming in also. Good luck fishing.

I was sleeping out in one of your houses fri and sat.. Friday I alone was over 50 fish with a bonus 36 inch northern. Sat was a little slower as the crowd moved in but with 3 people that day we got at least 100

Fishing has been very good lately now that the lake does not look like a fishing tournament is going on out there hahahha. This last weekend we had anywhere from people just getting limits to over 100 fish days. Our people have been fishing from nine to ten feet of water with small buckshots and Lindy flyer spoons working the best. See you soon and good luck fishing. Justin B

This spring I saw a lot of grouse and even a few broods. I'm hopeful for the upland season. Didn't see a whole lot of mallard ducklings this year but good numbers of wood ducks. I think the Canada geese numbers go up every year.

My uncle and dad said they aren’t seeing any young birds and not many up north. Bummer Hazel is ready and Finn wants some ducks .

Just got back from my annual 3 day fishing trip to my brother's cabin.  My dad, brother, nephew and I spent Thursday, Friday and Saturday fishing 4 lakes.(Evergreen,  Grace, Plantaganet and Cass.)  Caught lots of sunfish, crappie,  perch and a couple walleye.  Perch on Cass were 10-12 inches. Crappie were mostly 10 to 11. Some 12's.  Sunfish ran 8-9 inches.  Walleye was tough but managed a 14, 15 and 17. My brother and nephew did better than my dad and I. They have much better quality rods and could feel the bites much better, plus they used gulp vs our live bait mostly. They did better using 3 inch gulp than smaller ones as well. I'm definitely investing in a new quality rod. Plus I need to get more confidence on plastic.  Overall a very good trip.

Fall lake has nobody there and yes you have to use portage wheels to get across. At prairie portage you don't cross the border, so you don't have to go through customs. However right next to prairie portage there is a Canadian customs building if you wanted to enter into Canada. I don't know anything about it other than it is there.

Grouse season is right around the corner, my Italian 20-gauge SxS sidelock is still available for trade. 25" barrels, ejectors, single selective trigger, great early season grouse thumper, and in excellent condition for a fifty-year-old gun.   Jim

I was thinking of the fall lake portage,  isn't there someone there too?    Or is it just portage wheels to get boat across? And if you go at prairie portage, isn't that a border crossing, so customs and all that?   I love Quetico BTW
