I could watch that for a while thanks Lmit!

Now if we can get one where he gets off the ground and throws a tantrum like a 2 year old.

How many flags would be unloaded on the field if a defender got up and went after Brees, like he went after Blanton?

NFL is a joke, getting flagged for tackling the qb too hard...

More bad news Vikings fans. Minnesota Vikings release Adrian Peterson. Good news though, the Twins picked him up. Excellent switch hitter.

I feel for the defender as he really didnt try to try to somersault Breeze on his head.

But he did and thats a penalty if you have even remotelty paid attention to league and how they handle those types of plays.

And I hope you guys are joking about Breeze getting penalty there...

On a side not ... as expected, by some, the NFL television ratings went through the roof this past weekend.

So much for the doomsayers and the demise/decline of the No Fun League! whistle

I will always watch, cause the Vikings always find some new way to impress me with a bad loss or a record setting day against them. There have just been so many terrible moments in Viking history that they are hard to choose from. Here is one of my favorite.

Why? Because he's a weakling?

If you retaliate both teams should get a penalty and they offset. If that was any other player on the field besides Breeze both teams get the flag.

The Vikings always were and always will be a bone headed team. (love boat, 41-douhgnut, 12 men in the huddle) If we are to stupid to figure out if we slam a great QB, we should be penalized. The league is changing....

Hopefully everyone can look at that replay and clearly see Blanton on the underside which caused Brees to “tip over” as CM was taking him down. It was a matter of physics, and NOT a bone headed play. It was a call that changed the entire outcome of the game. Sad actually. Oh and don’t forget, even little Brees is bigger than Captain. smile

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. The NFL has about 10 years left in its tank. After the past few weeks, maybe less.

But I don’t even remotely pay attention so whatever…

What would you suggest he do? Ask Brees politely if he wouldn't ming taking a knee? Might as well bring back "in the grasp" or put flags on the QB.

Exactly! is more more of the timing of when Blanton hit him from the other side than Munnerlyn "suplexing" him. If you watch it from the one angle it looks totally like he picked him up and threw him down, but from the other angle you can clearly see it was a result of Blanton hitting him that allowed it to happen. No way Munnerlyn picks him up and throws him down like that on his own. I sure hope there isnt an NFL fine resulting from this. there were plenty of blown calls. There was one in the Bronco game too that screwed the Broncos. Its like its the replacement refs all over again.

Like I said I dont blame the player he just MAKING a great play. Unfortunately the play ended up slamming breeze on his head neck...its a penalty. IM Pretty large hometown homer too yet I could figure that one out.

And breeze did nothing to garner a penalty at all thats a clueless take.

My goodness Paul Allen just admitted that ..lol.

Glad dtro doesnt follow footbal...LOL.

I dunno, trying to hump someones leg and then push them has to be some sort of penalty.

He didn't unnecessarily slam him plain and simple. No foul.
My view as well. It looked to me like Munnerlyn wrapped him up and was trying to pull him back and at that split second Blanton hit him from the other way which brought him completely over.

The one good thing about the play is the vikings met at the QB! thats a good sign. :-)

I I dont care if it was voodoo or David Blaine that made Breeze backflip onto his head.

The referee veiwing it live is going to call it 100 percent of the time wether we like it or not. I agree it kind of sucked and it definetly hurt us but scoring 9 points at N.Orleans isnt going to win ever.

9 years 364 days and 15 hours the NFL is dead... grin

God willing im going to hold you to that one DTRO... grin

If they could still do helmet to helmet he would have earholed him to next season. Instead the guy 'laid up' and did a WWE move...Nothing to see here.

NFL is a joke.

I'm not there, so I can't tell exactly what's going on but it looks like a large area of open water developed in the last day with all of the heavy snow on the east side of wake em up Narrows. These two photos are from my Ring Camera facing north towards Niles Point.  You can see what happened with all of snow that fell in the last three days, though the open water could have been wind driven. Hard to say. .

Black Bay had great ice before but a few spots near rockpiles where there were spots of open water. It looks like the weight of the snow has created a little lake in the middle of the bay.

On the south end...   Thanks to some cold spring weather, ice fishing continues strong for those still ice fishing.  The bite remains very good.  Most resorts have pulled their fish houses off for the year, however, some still have fish houses out and others are allowing ATV and side by sides.  Check social media or call ahead to your favorite resort for specifics. Reports this week for walleyes and saugers remain excellent.   A nice mix of jumbo perch, pike, eelpout, and an occasional crappie, tullibee or sturgeon being reported by anglers. Jigging one line and using a live minnow on the second line is the way to go.  Green, glow red, pink and gold were good colors this week.     Monster pike are on a tear!  Good number of pike, some reaching over 45 inches long, being caught using tip ups with live suckers or dead bait such as smelt and herring in 8 - 14' of water.   As always, work through a resort or outfitter for ice road conditions.  Safety first always. Fish houses are allowed on the ice through March 31st, the walleye / sauger season goes through April 14th and the pike season never ends. On the Rainy River...  The river is opened up along the Nelson Park boat ramp in Birchdale, the Frontier boat ramp and Vidas boat ramp.  This past week, much of the open water skimmed over with the single digit overnight temps.   Areas of the river have popped open again and with temps getting warmer, things are shaping up for the last stretch through the rest of the spring season, which continues through April 14th.   Very good numbers of walleyes are in the river.  Reports this week, even with fewer anglers, have been good.  When temps warm up and the sun shines, things will fire up again.   Jigs with brightly colored plastics or jigs with a frozen emerald shiner have been the desired bait on the river.  Don't overlook slow trolling crankbaits upstream as well.   Good reports of sturgeon being caught on the river as well.  Sturgeon put the feed bag on in the spring.  The bite has been very good.  Most are using a sturgeon rig with a circle hook loaded with crawlers or crawlers / frozen emerald shiners. Up at the NW Angle...  Ice fishing is winding down up at the Angle.  Walleyes, saugers, and a number of various species in the mix again this week.  The bite is still very good with good numbers of fish.  The one two punch of jigging one line and deadsticking the second line is working well.   Check with Angle resorts on transport options from Young's Bay.  Call ahead for ice road guidelines.

With the drifting, kind of hard to tell for sure, but I'm guessing about a foot and still lightly snowing. Cook end!

How much snow did you get on Vermilion?
    • Mike89
lake here refroze too...  started opening again yesterday with the wet snow and wind...  very little ice left today...
    • Hookmaster
A friend who has a cabin between Alex and Fergus said the lake he's on refroze. He texted me a pic from March 12th when it was open and one from 23rd when it wasn't. 🤯
    • SkunkedAgain
I don't think that there has been any ice melt in the past few weeks on Vermilion. Things looked like a record and then Mother Nature swept in again.   I'll give my revised guess of April 21st

As I get older it's really not just about sending bullets down range.  Some of it's just the workmanship of the gun and the wow factor. The other two guns I have really wanted which I'll never have now because of their price, is a 8mm Jap Nambu and 9mm German Luger.   Just thought they always looked cool!

I had a guy hit me with a lightly used 1969 BAR, he wanted $1650 with an older Leupold scope. More than I think they are worth, I made an offer, he declined end of story.   You know if you look at the old brochures, a grade II BAR sold for $250 in the late 60s, $1650 would be a good return on your investment.    Why would anybody want a 50 year old gun, they are heavy, have wood stocks, and blued metal.  I guess mainly to keep their gun safes glued to the floor. lol   You can probably buy a stainless rifle that you never have to clean, with a synthetic stock you never have to refinish, is as light as a feather, and for half as much money, perfect.   I'm too old for a youth gun, although I've shrunk enough that it would probably fit. lol   No Ruger 10/44s.   Jim
