Packers 2014

SkunkedAgain

My observation from last nights game is that james Starks might be looking for a job tomorrow afternoon. DuJuan Harris and this Hill kid (#22) were getting to the holes and thorugh them where Starks seemed to be at leadt a half step slower to the holes if he took the hole........

Tolzein looked good too.

Now we got to the game and got in early since it was my son's first Lambeau trip. The Kansas City kickers and ounter were out warming up and continued to warm up till the end of the third quarter, constantly kicking into the net, working on steps to the ball, etc. their punter stunk, the kickers were "eh" but they were kicking for atleadt 3 hours last night.

I'm not worried about Starks. He was probably looking to avoid injury more than anything. The guy runs hard in regular games. He delivers a blow and is an great asset when healthy. I'm looking forward to seeing him with a second healthy season in a row

Packer fans don't need to worry about anything other than keeping Rodgers upright and on the field...if he is, he's capable of beating anybody...anywhere...anytime.

Green and Gold are SB contenders as long as Rodgers is on the field....

We will see how they look tonight. Even though they gave up 8 or 9 sacks against the Seahawks during the 2012 Fail Mary game, the O-line is much improved since then and we added a running game. What I liked about the Fail Mary game is that Seattle's aggressive style prompted Green Bay to play as hard as I've seen them play in years. I hope to see that matched effort again tonight.

Seattle is 15 and 1 in the last two regular seasons at home.

Green Bay has zero chance of winning tonight.

Century Link Field is a brutally loud stadium.

Rodgers has shown a propensity to devolve into a mediocre quarterback when confronted with a hostile crowd and deafening noise.

All the talk about the Hail Mary game in 2012 cracks me up.

Nothing like Packer Fans living in the past.

Nothing like a Viking fan [PoorWordUsage] that there are teams with a past worth living in!

Well let's live in the now. The Packers are in sole possession of the worst record in the NFL.

The combination of Peppers and Matthews looks like it will help your pass rush but the back end don't look as good as they have been for some time.

The offensive line looks like they need a lot of work. Still a good team and I am not going to bash them on one game. As much as I would Luke to..

Hahahaha, just think how good the Packers could be on offense if they learned how to build an O-line.

Lynch turned their run D into swiss cheese. Did they think they were playing flag football?

That was a pretty tough place to open the season. No one wins in Seattle so no surprise what happened. I thought the packers would be a bit more competitive then that though.

Packers D is a little better then i thought. Sam Shields is really under rated. Clay Mathews was extra roided up. But they cannot stop the run in the least and thats been true for a while... Its a good thing Rodgers gets the lead in a lot of games and forces other teams to play catch-up because the packer run D is horrid. Yes, Seattles offense is one of the best rushing O's in the NFL, but Lynch and Harvin both averaged like 10 yds a carry

Also the packer O line did not look very good at all and that might be a problem going forward.

Having said that id still pick the pack to win the division until someone else actually does

Show me where I stated I am a Vikings fan?

I will save you some time......I never stated that and I am not a Vikings Fan.

But you played another Packer Fan Classic Card......The Vikings Suck more card.

Typical Packers fans, even when their team gets embarrassed on National Television they still cannot grasp the concept of losing without making excuses.

RRR. Now I see why no one on here cares a lick what you say... Where did I say the Vikings suck more? Where did I say I'm a Packer fan... I merely said there are teams (more than the Packers) with a past worth living in.. If you're not a Viking fan, just interject whatever it is you are... Who really cares? I don't!

If you want an honest assessment of how I thought the Packers looked, simply ask. Surprisingly, all the Packer fans I know said the same thing of the game that I thought. Most I know are fairly critical of them...

Get a life... I think your Mom is calling you at the top of the stairs....

But Have a great weekend!

The Jets have a very stout DL and a pretty good 1-2 punch at RB. It's going to be a game that's promoted as Rodgers vs Geno Smith, but very likely will come down to the game in the trenches. The Packers need to be able to run the ball to help Rodgers get out of his Game 1 funk. They also need to be able to stop the Jets from running, putting the ball in Geno's hands. He is still making mistakes but is getting better.

Both teams played sloppy in their first games. It just so happens that Green Bay did it against the defending SB champs while the Jets did it against the woeful Raiders.

A big game for the Packers. They need to keep pace with the Lions if they want to have a chance at winning the division, which is likely their only chance for making the playoffs.

Luckily the Bears re-signed Cutler in the offseason, so there is a great chance the Packers will win this one with a couple of trademark "same old Jay" interceptions.

They are hitting there stride the D is looking good finally. The 49ers and the Seahawks both of rough schedules both might miss the playoffs which would be awesome for the Pack

Pack have to be the favorite to come out of the NFC right now. Cards are well coached, but I dont think they have the QB to go all the way.

Arizona has the type of defense to go all the way but you're right, not the QB. There is still enough time for Stanton to become Trent Dilfer-enough to be effective.

The switch of Clay Matthews to ILB has helped tremendously, but not just because of what he can do but it keeps Matthews, Julius Peppers, and now Nick Perry all on the field at the same time. Those three are playing great, and so surprisingly is LeTroy Guion. He started off slow, and a freak good game against the Vikings, but has slowly increased his worth. He played a really good game against the Eagles and has already set personal records for tackles in a season and sacks.

The Packers are red hot right now and the Patriots (after the Vikings) will give them a true measure of aptitude.

The Packers are legitimately one of the top teams in the league right now. I'm not blind to the possibility that we may have lost had the game been played in Foxborough, but it wasn't and the game was won. The defense has gotten better and better while the offense has gotten more diverse and more difficult to contain. I'll still plan on one more loss (on the road at the Bills if there is one) but this team could conceivably run the table and have home field advantage through the playoffs.

Fun football to watch

Aaron Rodgers Calls Out ‘one-who-thinks-I-am-silly Trolls’ Who Read Into His Grape Crush Choice

lol, I guess you can't type I-D-I-O-T on this site so I guess we will have to go with "one who thinks I'm silly" crazy

The Pack is locked into the playoffs again. They aren't looking as sharp as mid-season but now is the time to snap back to life. They flexed the Packers-Lions game to 3:25pm which is great. I'm looking forward to playing the Seahawks. I think that we have something to show even in Seattle.

With the early ice out, how is the curlyleaf pondweed doing?

On the south end...   The big basin, otherwise known as Big Traverse Bay, is ice free.  Zippel Bay and Four Mile Bay are ice free as well.  Everything is shaping up nicely for the MN Fishing Opener on May 11th. With the walleye / sauger season currently closed, most anglers are targeting sturgeon and pike.  Some sturgeon anglers are fishing at the mouth of the Rainy River, but most sturgeon are targeted in Four Mile Bay or the Rainy River.  Hence, pike are the targeted species on the south shore and various bays currently.   Pike fishing this time of year is a unique opportunity, as LOW is border water with Canada, the pike season is open year round. The limit is 3 pike per day with one being able to be more than 40 inches. All fish 30 - 40 inches must be released. Back bays hold pike as they go through the various stages of the spawn.  Deadbait under a bobber, spinners, spoons and shallow diving crankbaits are all viable options.   Four Mile Bay, Bostic Bay and Zippel Bay are all small water and boats of various sizes work well. On the Rainy River...  Great news this week as we learned sturgeon will not be placed on the endangered species list by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service.     The organization had to make a decision by June 30 and listing sturgeon could have ended sturgeon fishing.  Thankfully, after looking at the many success stories across the nation, including LOW and the Rainy River, sturgeon fishing and successful sturgeon management continues.   A good week sturgeon fishing on the Rainy River.  Speaking to some sturgeon aficionados, fishing will actually get even better as water temps rise.     Four Mile Bay at the mouth of the Rainy River near the Wheeler's Point Boat Ramp is still producing good numbers of fish, as are various holes along the 42 miles of navigable Rainy River from the mouth to Birchdale.   The sturgeon season continues through May 15th and resumes again July 1st.   Oct 1 - April 23, Catch and Release April 24 - May 7, Harvest Season May 8 - May 15, Catch and Release May 16 - June 30, Sturgeon Fishing Closed July 1 - Sep 30, Harvest Season If you fish during the sturgeon harvest season and you want to keep a sturgeon, you must purchase a sturgeon tag for $5 prior to fishing.    One sturgeon per calendar year (45 - 50" inclusive, or over 75"). Most sturgeon anglers are either a glob of crawlers or a combo of crawlers and frozen emerald shiners on a sturgeon rig, which is an 18" leader with a 4/0 circle hook combined with a no roll sinker.  Local bait shops have all of the gear and bait. Up at the NW Angle...  A few spots with rotten ice, but as a rule, most of the Angle is showing off open water.  In these parts, most are looking ahead to the MN Fishing Opener.  Based on late ice fishing success, it should be a good one.

Nice fish. I moved to the Sartell area last summer and just thought it was windy like this everyday up here? 🤭

Crazy windy again today.... This is has been the norm this spring. Between the wind and the cold fronts, fishing has been more challenging for me than most years.  Panfish have been moving in and out of the shallows quite a bit. One day they are up in the slop, the next they are out relating to cabbage or the newly sprouting lilly pads.  Today eye guy and I found them in 4-5 ft of water, hanging close to any tree branches that happened to be laying in the water.  Bigger fish were liking a 1/32 head and a Bobby Garland baby shad.   Highlight of the day way this healthy 15incher
