Close To 300 Women, Children Caught Along Texas-Mexico Border

June 19, 2014 9:34 AM

MISSION, TEXAS (KRLD) – A day after Texas state leaders approved a border security surge, news comes out of Mission, Texas that close to 300 women and children have been caught trying to cross illegally into the U.S.

“I talked to a Border Patrol agent yesterday and he told me that in one group — not several groups — but in one group, 280 mothers and children were caught; they turned themselves in,” says Congressman Henry Cuellar (D-Laredo). “That shows you the magnitude of what’s happening down there.”

He says the word is out that sanctuary can be found in the U.S. if you cross the Mexican border.

“The message is out. This is not just happening by accident. Criminal organizations know that if you’re a woman or a child, you are going to stay in the U.S. You’re given a piece of paper called a notice to appear [before ICE] and told you can travel anywhere in the United States,” says Cuellar. “But after they travel for such a long time they’re not going to turn themselves in later on, so they became part of the 11 or 12 million illegal immigrants here.”

Cuellar says the U.S. has a “Cuban policy defacto.”

“Because that’s what we do with the Cubans, and that’s what’s happening right now.”

George Grayson, a Professor Emeritus in Latin American Studies at the College of William and Mary, says the amount of illegal immigrants crossing the border now could seem like a drop in the bucket down the line.

“They will seek to have their families join them in the country… more migrants will be encouraged to reach the southwest border,” says Grayson. “Citizens from around the world are watching, and how many hundreds of thousands of desperate people do you think would like to flock to Central America, seek the services of a smuggler and make a bee line for the U.S. border? What’s now a wave of people at the frontier will become possibly a tsunami.”

This is textbook Cloward-Piven strategy to overwhelm and collapse the economic and social systems, in order to replace them with a “new socialist order” under federal control.

many of these illegals are hardened gang members, many carry deadly diseases.

Diseases the U.S. had controlled or virtually eradicated: tuberculosis (TB), Chagas disease, dengue fever, hepatitis, malaria, measles, plus more.

I understand dems and reps have their differences, but why take the Country down ?

I'd say that the push by folks like Bachmann to scare people away from getting vaccinated is probably as big of a threat to the children than hundreds of hardened gangster women n kids at the boarders...

Blu e-cigs I think. That and maybe some white feather boas, but I guess if you look at that set of images I think the white feathery boas may have been supporting her... but that's another topic (and probably not HSO friendly). winkblush

**edit** I was bringing up Bachmann cuz she's my congressional rep, she's crazy, and she says things I remember a lot. Being an arrogant know it all who thinks they're smarter than doctors is definitely not isolated to any of the political parties out there.

  • 3 weeks later...

Over 100 pro-amnesty activists from Southern California traveled to Naval Base Ventura County on Tuesday to stage a demonstration outside the gates to demand "humane treatment" for illegal aliens who have been transferred there from Texas by U.S. Border Patrol. The aliens, many of them unaccompanied children, are from Central America and crossed the U.S.-Mexico border as part of a massive recent migration.

The demonstrators represented a variety of backgrounds, from church and student organizations to left-wing political groups. They chanted, "No papers? No fear! Our children stay here!" and "All children matter! Let our kids stay!" Karen Gonzales, a senior at California State University Northridge, told Breitbart News: "As humans, none of us is illegal. The kids came here because their parents are already here, and to get away from violence."

Oxnard native Robert Cruz, 57, who served as a U.S. Navy corpsman and U.S. Army medic, carried an American flag and told Breitbart News that he was at the protest to show "we're a lot different than Murrieta." He added: "I understand that many would love to come here legally, but they are running away from violence. They don't have a say. This country was built by immigrants. Should we close our door? We stand for equality for all."

Asked what he thought of President Barack Obama's promise to deport children arriving illegally, Cruz said: "I think he should search deep inside his heart, and look at what he's saying and what he's doing. He'd be sending them back, possibly, to a death sentence.

"Would President Obama do that to his own children? Would he do that to his father's family from Africa? Would he send his nieces and nephews back to Kenya?"

Our border security is a joke at best, Our policy is a joke at best. Sooner or later this Country has to start to do something about all of the illegals that cross the border and the drugs.

Our border security for the past 10 years has done about nothing, yes we catch a few but we send them back and then they return and many never get caught.

Not sure what the answer is but we know Obama is not the man to take care of this issue.

I guess I believe that our elected officials really could care less about the border.

If the Hispanic's can cross this easy, I guess any terrorist could also.

It seems as though we don't have a problem to the North... confusedcrazyconfused Heck the federal government was able to lock us out of some WMA's last year during a shutdown with some cones and police tape. Either we are a bunch of pussies or the "folks from the south" have bigger go-nads that we do.

I agree with you leech, trouble is, our Gov cannot agree on anything so really, nothing much gets changed for the better but we still spend millions upon millions and they still cross.

I have no problem spending those funds to try and curb the border crossing but maybe we need to put some pressure on the Mexican Gov, we need to do something more or this issue will only get worse.

I do not have any issues with anyone coming to this country if they are legal, get a job and be a productive citizen. But, not a lot of that is happening.

friggin sillytown. I tell ya. The land where logical fallacy = logical fact!

All of the immigrants that I have known in my life work just as hard as us that were born here. All of my neighbors when I lived in Minneapolis the first few years after college graduation were all immigrants and they were productive citizens, and a lot of fun to hang out with (well, most were. Some were kinda @$$holes).

wonder how many folks down here slammin the immigrants could actually pass that naturalization exam ...

And how many were illegal? Of course, once again, everyone is this country is MISSING the point. They came/come here by ways of breaking the LAW. How about if we all descend on Blaine and check out Slabs house while he's gone? Apparently he doesn't have a problem with that. Or how about this weekend I catch a "few" over my limit? I guess no problem with that either. There is a rule of LAW in the USA, either follow it or get out!! Remember back when they were going to arrest the Vets that were going to have their ceremony in D.C. last year whe the government was shut down? Probably not we have short term memory. But hey a couple thousand people (oh yea the poor kids) cross into the USA everyday, and we turn a blind eye. Wake up or better yet grow up and use an Adut common sense approach.

By the way if you REALLY love having these folks, head on down and take a few in! It's easy to sit back 1000 miles away and preach how "we" should take care of them. Feel free, 35W runs straight down there. blush

Muslim Prayer Rug Found on Arizona Border by Independent American Security Contractors

Matthew Leber spokesman for the American Patriot, Three Percent, sent Breitbart News photos of what American security contractors on the ground believe is a Muslim prayer rug found near the border in Arizona last week.

A member of the security team spoke with Breitbart News on Monday night saying they were on patrol right along the border came down into a wash and the area were working in just south of Sierra Vista in Coronado national forest.

“That area is prime crossing from Yucca Springs over to Copper Canyon. And the reason that they use that area is anything from plain old Mexicans and South Americans to cartels and anybody else is because border patrol has a high point lookout area where in the Coronado national forest, tourists can come on up,” He said.

He added, “The border patrol parks up there with a surveillance vehicle that has cameras and flares on it. The problem is with flares, you can’t see down into washes. You can see people crossing the border, but the second they get into the washes, border patrol lose them. So, when they told us that, we decided we would patrol those areas by the washes.”

The group patrolled along the border that was a patchwork of decades old rickety fencing made from train tracks and cattle enclosures. Eventually, they were 50 yards by the border and saw a break in the wash.

“That’s when I saw this thing laying around. And I was like, ‘What the hell is that?’ We walked over there and I didn’t really want to pull at it not knowing what was on it. I poked a bit at it with a stick and noticed some of the Arabic writing and was just like, ‘Oh boy.’ I snapped a couple of photos and then went on our patrol.”

The same contractor told Breitbart News last week that six Special Interest Aliens (SIA’s) from Afghanistan, Iraq, and Yemen were picked up by U.S. border patrol near Laredo, Texas. Each one had 60,000 Iraqi Dinars ($51.00) apiece on them.

Human Events reported in 2010 that Iranian currency and prayer rugs were regularly found near the southern border. A November 2012 House Committee on Homeland Security report from the Oversight Sub-Committee that stated:

U.S. Government officials who are directly responsible for our national security continue to affirm the vulnerability. In August 2007 former Director of National Intelligence Mike McConnell stated that not only have terrorists used the Southwest border to enter the United States but that they will inevitably continue to do so as long as it is an available possibility. In a July 2012 hearing before the full U.S. House of Representatives Committee on Homeland Security, DHS Secretary Janet Napolitano confirmed that terrorists have crossed the Southwest border with the intent to harm the American people. Additionally, the U.S. Border Patrol regularly apprehends aliens from the 35 “special interest countries” designated by our intelligence community as countries that could export individuals that could bring harm to our country in the way of terrorism.” From Fiscal Years 2006 to 2011, there were 1,918 apprehensions of these special interest aliens at our Southwest border.

Government sources are concerned that the rise in illegals crossing the border is coinciding with the uptick of individuals with ties to terrorism who are entering the country along the U.S. southern border.

Texas Republican governor Rick Perry has repeatedly warned that the flood of illegal immigrants over the nation’s southern border includes individuals affiliated with terrorist organizations from all over the world. In fact, the Jihadist group slamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS), which is in the midst of taking over large cities in Iraq, has already threatened to confront the United States on its on soil.

Congressman Ted Poe (R-TX) told CBS’s local Dallas Fort Worth affiliate he believes that ISIS will use Texas’s southern border to enter the United States.

“Of course the way they would come to the United States would be through the porous border with Mexico. The drug cartels will bring people into the country no matter who they are — for money,” says Poe. “Everyone in the world knows that the border between the United States and Mexico is completely porous.”

Poe also said, “This jihadist group ISIS and it’s leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi have promised direct confrontation with America. He is looking forward to that day and he has said that publicly, we should believe him when he says that. These folks hate everything about the United States.”

Last week, Los Angeles Fox 11 News reporter Gigi Graciette tweeted out that sources told her, “three people on terrorist watch list were detained crossing the border illegally into CA.”

I had someone I knew at work that was a "Bleeding Heart" also, when I ask him to put up his own money or home to house all these Poor Children, or shut up, he mysteriously became mute.

But you know, the Progressives want OTHER PEOPLE or OTHER PEOPLES MONEY to take care of what they deem as issue. Seldom will you EVER see any of them step-up with their own resources. shocked

My point was to Harvey who said that hardly any legal immigration happens anymore. Not sure what the rest of your tirade has anything to do with my point about legal immigration.

But hey. Again sillytown logic isn't really a requirement.

With the early ice out, how is the curlyleaf pondweed doing?
    • LakeofthewoodsMN
On the south end...   The big basin, otherwise known as Big Traverse Bay, is ice free.  Zippel Bay and Four Mile Bay are ice free as well.  Everything is shaping up nicely for the MN Fishing Opener on May 11th. With the walleye / sauger season currently closed, most anglers are targeting sturgeon and pike.  Some sturgeon anglers are fishing at the mouth of the Rainy River, but most sturgeon are targeted in Four Mile Bay or the Rainy River.  Hence, pike are the targeted species on the south shore and various bays currently.   Pike fishing this time of year is a unique opportunity, as LOW is border water with Canada, the pike season is open year round. The limit is 3 pike per day with one being able to be more than 40 inches. All fish 30 - 40 inches must be released. Back bays hold pike as they go through the various stages of the spawn.  Deadbait under a bobber, spinners, spoons and shallow diving crankbaits are all viable options.   Four Mile Bay, Bostic Bay and Zippel Bay are all small water and boats of various sizes work well. On the Rainy River...  Great news this week as we learned sturgeon will not be placed on the endangered species list by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service.     The organization had to make a decision by June 30 and listing sturgeon could have ended sturgeon fishing.  Thankfully, after looking at the many success stories across the nation, including LOW and the Rainy River, sturgeon fishing and successful sturgeon management continues.   A good week sturgeon fishing on the Rainy River.  Speaking to some sturgeon aficionados, fishing will actually get even better as water temps rise.     Four Mile Bay at the mouth of the Rainy River near the Wheeler's Point Boat Ramp is still producing good numbers of fish, as are various holes along the 42 miles of navigable Rainy River from the mouth to Birchdale.   The sturgeon season continues through May 15th and resumes again July 1st.   Oct 1 - April 23, Catch and Release April 24 - May 7, Harvest Season May 8 - May 15, Catch and Release May 16 - June 30, Sturgeon Fishing Closed July 1 - Sep 30, Harvest Season If you fish during the sturgeon harvest season and you want to keep a sturgeon, you must purchase a sturgeon tag for $5 prior to fishing.    One sturgeon per calendar year (45 - 50" inclusive, or over 75"). Most sturgeon anglers are either a glob of crawlers or a combo of crawlers and frozen emerald shiners on a sturgeon rig, which is an 18" leader with a 4/0 circle hook combined with a no roll sinker.  Local bait shops have all of the gear and bait. Up at the NW Angle...  A few spots with rotten ice, but as a rule, most of the Angle is showing off open water.  In these parts, most are looking ahead to the MN Fishing Opener.  Based on late ice fishing success, it should be a good one.

Nice fish. I moved to the Sartell area last summer and just thought it was windy like this everyday up here? 🤭
    • Rick G
Crazy windy again today.... This is has been the norm this spring. Between the wind and the cold fronts, fishing has been more challenging for me than most years.  Panfish have been moving in and out of the shallows quite a bit. One day they are up in the slop, the next they are out relating to cabbage or the newly sprouting lilly pads.  Today eye guy and I found them in 4-5 ft of water, hanging close to any tree branches that happened to be laying in the water.  Bigger fish were liking a 1/32 head and a Bobby Garland baby shad.   Highlight of the day way this healthy 15incher
