well, I wonder how much politics enters the scientists motivation and detail behind what they uncover. the default is...Mother nature has her ways.

Tom,

It all sounds good.

Wait for science to tell us the best answer and with what degree of certainty.

I do wonder about the science part of things when the DNR which probably doesn't know why the lake is down for sure has this quote

Quote:
The DNR does not agree the science supports the plaintiffs’ theory that groundwater pumping is the primary cause of low water levels on White Bear Lake. The state’s independent expert, a nationally recognized hydrogeologist, has concluded that the cause of the lake’s decline in recent years is likely climate related.

Who is this hydrologist?

How can his hypothesis or study that we haven't seen be better than the ones that have been carried out or are being done right now?

Does this person have any business interest in the Aquifer or groundwater in the area?

I think other that it is a good solution to wait 2-3 years. I think the DNR did a good job on this and the people who had the lawsuit had a possibly legitimate claim. Things worked in the governmental/judicial/private process as they should which I can attest doesn't always occur in other parts of our country.

Actually it is Matt Dean grandstanding when there is very little chance of success. Pure political falderol by a guy who is so wrapped up in himself I wonder how he takes his clothes off at night.

Yea Tom, I suppose they could call him Senator Welthfare. As the "Science" and Study isn't in yet on the Aquifer and Lake level yet, let alone the Augmentation that is- "A Private patch for the privileged that would be paid for by the public."

Wait for the study to be done and do the best thing for the long term for the whole area is what I say.

The proposed Augmentation would Pipeline water from the flow of the Mississippi to Sucker Lake to White Bear Lake with a treatment plant to be built by White Bear Lake.

The metaphor that the money, whoops, I mean water would go from Sucker Lake to White Bear Lake is almost laughable if it wasn't for the fact it would be tax payers hard earned dollars that would be flowing as well.
