The walleyes are winning every time i go out! I am looking to see if anyone can point me in a good direction to catch some walleyes on chain, rice, koronis? i have been all over mainly the chain, been to koronis and rice a couple times. The only walleyes i can find are less than 10 inchers! only had a few go longer, is it just that bad time of the year or what? mainly been fishing anywhere from 10 to 25 fow, fished some deeper water 25to 35 on koronis where i caught the most fish but still very few. crappies have been going for me but just can't seem to find decent walleyes. i am tired of moving the wheel shack every day haha! if anyone could give me some tips i would appreciate it. thanks

As we are coming into Feb my expectations for a good walleye outing are if I get 2-3 keepers I have done well. December and early Jan was the time to cash in on numbers of white tips.

The lakes you mentioned are all good, I would focus more on Koronis as there are better numbers of fish that haven't been worked all winter in there.

Clearwater or Big Birch would also be good choices for a few late season walleyes.

I have always been a fan of shallow water for walleyes, no matter the lake, there will always be some fish in the shallows. More often than not they are shallow for one reason, food. Find a nice green weed edge close to some deep water, or a nice shallow rocky area to work.

Time of day can be very important, work the "prime times" this means the last hr of daylight and the first hr or darkness. The morning bite can be the same way, though I have almost always found evenings to be better late winter.

Keep your baits simple... I like to use a dead stick with a crappie minnow or a small fathead in one hole while jigging a spoon or jigging rap in my second hole. Most of the time the jigging draws the fish in and the live minnow seals the deal wink

It seems I remember reading that during mid-winter fish only eat 1% of their weight per day or something like that. That's my excuse anyway. But it won't keep me from trying.

It is  pretty shiny piece of equipment. I was able to purchase it on my scab job wages 😆 I don't think I'll update the electronics any time soon, 3 screens is enough?

Just another "Words matter"   Voting on school levy. This was posted on the School "education district" building door.  We had a nice cold walk all the way around the building! The arrow was added, after we educated them! 😒

Obviously this is more of a hot topic due to forward facing sonar. With that being said, I know people who have pulled crappies out of basins 40+ deep since the fl-8 and zercom flashers came out. That's over 30 years ago. I do think there's a push to ban these in MN and I could see them doing it here. They'll have to pay my livescope from my cold dead hands 😆 on days I can't catch a walleye jigging or rigging it's nice to turn it on and throw corks at individual fish

It wasn't just you, I was fishing west of you about an hour on Monday. Fished 8am-4pm, no fish, two keeper walleye and one small one from 4pm-630pm. Marked a lot of fish, they would come up to a jig and swim away. They were skittish to the dead stick too

I wonder like divers, if we let them decompress every 10' for 1/2hr. If that would help?  🤔  It would slow the bite down a bit!  🤭
