Anyone try one these? I was going to buy a Frabill 9510, $79.99 (Conservation Series for bass, walleye), but when I was at FFarm I was able to compare the two nets and the EGO ($99.99) seemed a lot lighter and easier to use. I fish by myself about 90% of the time - retired and live on a lake - so I need a net that I can handle. Are the EGO nets worth the extra $20.00? They look way cooler than the Frabill.

I have the ego and absolutely love it! Slides or extends easy hooks do not get tangled in net at all.

I definitely would buy another but thankfully I don't need to.

Marineman, you will love that EGO S2 Slider net. I bought one last year and also sold one with our business that we started and the person that bought from us said the same thing, Just a awesome net. Slides with ease and the rubber net is great for treble hooks. Its thin enough that the treble hooks don't get hooked in the rubber. I have 2 more that I sold this year as soon as we get them in. From a sportsman to another you will love this net.

Best nets on the market. You will love it.

I don't own a slider but have checked them out a few times. They feel "cheap" to me. Beckman is the only net worth that kind of coin IMO.

From a guy who owns a beckman musky net and an ego s2 slider I can assure you there is nothing "cheap" about this net. It works flawless.

Comparing a beckman to this net is like comparing a 70's muscle car to a Ferarri.

I labored the choice of getting a beckman fin saver over this EGO S2 slider and having gone with the EGO I have ZERO regrets.

The handle extends with ease, the webbing doesnt get hooks all caught up in it, I can easily unscrew the handle from the net for storing.

I am not a tremendous fan of the foam on the handle for the same reasons I hate foam on a rod handle since they get full of fish slime and icy, but that is the ONLY tiny gripe about it.

I actually watched an episode of The Next Bite where they had a double slider where that sucker extended like 10 feet. Crazy! Hauling in 12 # walleyes on lake erie at full extension.

They look and feel like a great net. I took a hard look at them, but ended up with a Stowmaster. Not as fancy, but folds up and fits in my livewell.

Did they beef them up on the 2 model? I had one a couple years ago and it snapped on second fish. The guy running net tried a quick scoop and it snapped. Brought back to cabelas and they returned money and said they pulled them off shelf because to many being returned for same reason. but that was a very nice concept.

The version out now is ego slider 2. There was an original version, but I dont know what actually changed between the first iteration and the second.

Ive seen guys use this net at full extension and lift 8 pound walleyes out of the water multiple times and not break anything.

I just wish they would dump the foam on the handle. I am going to use some racquet wrap on my or some other grip tape.

I recently received my new EGO net. Works great in the family room! I bounce a ball for my Shepard and then snatch the ball with my net before the dog gets it. This game has not been wifey-approved. The handle has a sticker on it, "Enhanced Handle Design. 2X Stronger". I am assuming this means that past problems have been addressed.

I was looking at these a couple of years ago and that is when Cabela's pulled them because of poor reliability. I then called the company and they told me they had a newer better version so I ordered one from them. First day out 2 yrs ago, first fish on, extended the net and the hoop kept going into the water, came right off the handle. Luckily it floated and we retrieved that and the fish. Glued it back on and it worked most of the rest of the summer. Towards end of summer the extension mechanism quit working and it did not collapse evenly.

I sent it back to the company and the sent me a new one. Used that one all last summer with no issues. I really like the net because it collapses easily and extends easily. I was upset that the first one broke but happy with the customer service and they replaced it with a new one.

This net was actually copied from a net a guy in North Dakota built that is much higher quality. EGO cheapened up the parts and mass produced them.

It is  pretty shiny piece of equipment. I was able to purchase it on my scab job wages 😆 I don't think I'll update the electronics any time soon, 3 screens is enough?

Just another "Words matter"   Voting on school levy. This was posted on the School "education district" building door.  We had a nice cold walk all the way around the building! The arrow was added, after we educated them! 😒

Obviously this is more of a hot topic due to forward facing sonar. With that being said, I know people who have pulled crappies out of basins 40+ deep since the fl-8 and zercom flashers came out. That's over 30 years ago. I do think there's a push to ban these in MN and I could see them doing it here. They'll have to pay my livescope from my cold dead hands 😆 on days I can't catch a walleye jigging or rigging it's nice to turn it on and throw corks at individual fish

It wasn't just you, I was fishing west of you about an hour on Monday. Fished 8am-4pm, no fish, two keeper walleye and one small one from 4pm-630pm. Marked a lot of fish, they would come up to a jig and swim away. They were skittish to the dead stick too

I wonder like divers, if we let them decompress every 10' for 1/2hr. If that would help?  🤔  It would slow the bite down a bit!  🤭
