Anyone used Red Lake Adventures lately, I have a house booked next week and would like any info you can provide.

I called them today and spoke with the lady that takes reservations and she said the "bite is steady", "fatheads are best" and to "avoid flashy colors" for lures.

Is anyone else seeing similar patterns on the lake?

In the past we've stayed at: Waskish Minnow station x6(Kelly and Johnny give the best reports and info), Hillmans(Buddy and BJ can drink beer), Hudecs (only one time), Alpine Rental, West Winds, JR's, Jerry's,and Outdoor Authority. We like to try new spots and it seems like we learn somthing everytime.

I was up there Monday, Tuesday and left Wednesday morning with my wheel house. Plenty of fish to be had. Fishing was ok. Seen it better, seen it worse. Nothing was really standing out for a pattern we tried a lot of different stuff, you'd catch one or 2 and nothing so then we'd try something else. Jigging seemed to be a little better than dead sticks but not much. Had fatheads shiners and chubs, all caught about the same. One good thing is there was very little commotion there, but that's why I go out of there 95% of the time. Scott and Brent are good guys who try to get you on fish whether you rent from them or bring a wheel house. Good luck

Leaving tomorrow morning (brrrrrrrrrrrrr) any new reports?

Just got back last night, fished Thursday through Sunday morning. Fishing was really slow Thursday and Friday but picked up all day Saturday. Brought home 8 walleye from 3 guys including a 29" Saturday night. Night bite was non-existant. Not a single rattle all three nights. Couldn't really tell any difference in colors, jigging v deadstick, etc. I must say that Scott did a great job keeping us comfortable and making sure we were happy. I would recommend to anyone looking to book a trip.

Just getting back from Red, we kept 11, for 4 guys fishing, all were 17.5-18.5, I'd guess we caught 30 total yesterday. I was suprised at how well they bit for as cold as it was.

A #4 yellow glow demon caught the majority of the keepers, we caught 5 on rattle reels after 10PM and missed 1 rattle wheel at 5AM.

The houses were ok, maybe a little narrow for 4 big guys and even though we were the only people out we were kinda shooed out right at 10AM by the owner(one of the trucks wouldn't start and it took over an hour for us to jump it). The privy was a good hundred yards away, unheated, and had no light.

Fishing was good, stay was good, overall amenities were ok. I'd try 'em again but maybe in the bigger house, we were in an 8X20.

And I'll for sure pay to use the ice road if he keeps his houses on fish.

We got back yesterday, were up from Friday afternoon to sunday morning. Put 4 walleys in the bucket before I could even crack a beer Friday. They were super aggresive and biting on anything we put down. I ended up catching the most with a green glow walleye weasel, plain hooks were also good, but we found having one person jigging pretty aggresivly and the rest set lines worked pretty well that day. We cleaned 15 that night between 13-18". Saturday was much slower, got a few in the morning and at dusk but for the most part it seemed like the fish really wised up to us because we missed a lot more than we caught. The other house in our group did much better this day, mostly overnight on rattle reels, so we ended up I would say catching around 50 fish. keeping about half that between 6 guys, and 4 of those guys not being big fishermen at all.

We had a blast through Red Lake Adventures and would reccomend them in a heartbeat. We are definetly planning on another trip next year. Nice and clean houses, the privy's were easily accesable on plowed trails(no walking thru drifts), and the service was excellent and we caught a bunch of fish. All in all a great trip.
