I am heading up to lake of the woods on friday and I am looking at my navionics on my phone and I see next the all this structure it says flooded timber. I am wondering if thats what the structure is made of and if I should try fishing around it? any advice on depths or resorts to drive out of with my clam is much appreciated...full-47458-41468-image.png

I've seen that before and I'm not sure what it is either. I've drifted spinners over this spot many times open water and never hooked into flooded timber.

Pretty sure the Zippel Bay Area is all shallow sand transition to mud. Personally I think it's noise/interference and doesn't signify any type of real structure.

I was thinking the same thing but I have seen it on the lakemaster chip as well. any advice on where to drive out of with my portable this weekend. I am staying at the walleye inn so I'm open to going anywhere? I am thinking about going out of the new cyrus road and finding as deep as I can.

Many options for traveling out. From what I've read the deep bite off all the main roads has slowed and most of the fish are small. That being said, there are eaters to be had and there are plenty +20" fish roaming around.

We've been fishing some of the south shore reefs on the West and Central part of the lake and have been doing well, but the key is to fish spots that haven't been pounded. However, most of these spots are only accessible with a tracked machine.

Looks like the picture is from 2010, was that the year with all the wood

out there most of the summer? I would call it a glitch or something that was there temporarily. Interesting though.

underwater sand dunes from strong northwest and north winds over the years, with a few logs buried here and there.
