My 10x16 perm is in its 19th winter with original Empire DV furnace. The furnace has required cleaning/minor repairs twice; most recent was 2-3 winters ago. It works but is super-sensitive. (i.e. If you put front cover on, pilot seems to go out. Talk about weirdly frustrating...) Anyway, need advice on its future. Would you just keep using it (and fixing it) until it dies? Or replace after this season? (Rest of house seems structurally sound/good for several more years.)If replaced, what's best guess on cost if DIY? Pro install? Advice on technician/dealers/installers in Mille Lacs area welcome, too. Thanks in advance.

3 in 10 years? The one in our hunting cabin is 15 yrs old and runs perfectly. If the exhaust isn't rusted-And it heats, I'd fix minor things. That pilot problem may be connected to the venting, you better check to see you're not rusted thru.
