So my inlaws don't have cable or a dish up at the cabin but there is an antenna on top of their cabin and they were able to pick up a few channels. Sometime this summer they stopped picking up channels. Did anyone else experience this who was just using an antenna? I'm wondering if something came loose on the antenna or maybe the signal just stopped. Any info would be helpful. I'm going to be up there this weekend and would really love to watch the games.

As long as you have an hdtv or a converter box on a non-hd tv, I would say something is bad on a connection somewhere. Wouldn't have just "stopped" getting reception.... I think

One channel or all channels stopped? Is there an amplifier on the antenna or by the TV? Wind could have possibly turned the antenna as well.

All channels went out. I might have to check the connection or get a new antenna.

I don't feel the antenna itself is the issue. I'm 8 miles East of Mille Lacs and just use a regular rooftop antenna, with an amplifier inside the cabin, and get channels. I'd suspect there's an amplifier, possibly on the antenna, that's the issue. If the amplifier is inside the cabin, nobody possibly unplugged the power, did they? And, check all connections.

Not sure but, no reason you can't learn.

antenna web.org

type antenna web as one word.

Easy to check it out. Start at one end and work to the other looking for any bad connections. Start on the roof/antenna and follow it all the way to the tv. You should find the problem somewhere, could just be that the signal booster is unplugged, a coaxial connection is bad.... piece of cake. Where is the cabin? If it's near where I'm at this weekend (hopefully) I'd be willing to take a look. Pm me

It's on the NE side of Mille Lacs. The only thing abut checking the antenna is that the roof is super steep and I don't think I could get up there.

Looks like my house isn't going out quite yet so I won't be up yet. I would start behind the tv and see if you find something loose. Has to be something easy.
