What to do with Garmin GPS 75

Cove

Question

My first GPS was a Garmin 75 May 1995. Turned it on last week and after about 30 minutes of "searching the sky" (too long even for this 8-channel sequential receiver) the screen went blank. It was as if it had been turned off. Power supply was fine (12 volt car adaptor) I tried turning it back on, it would power up and start to search for satelites again but now would only stay on for a minute or so before going dead again.
I emailed Garmin support and was given a perfunctory reply to mail it in, $99 flat fee to repair...
I am fond of this old thing and have accessaries to use it in boat and car, but could get a new 12 channel parallel receiver hand held for very little more than $99.
Any ideas?

Retire it.

You just said yourself you can replace it for not much more.. new unit, new warranty... something you can depend on.

Cove, If you were using your GPS on a cold day try it again on a warmer day before you pronounce it dead. Good Luck.

Thanks for your comments, folks. I took it out again and instead of using the car power cord I used the one I had for my boat and the power did not fail. After 25 minutes it was still "Searching the Sky" but when I hit the Nav key it did show coordinates and said it had "3-D" reception so maybe in reinitialized and will be OK. I will try it out again when it warms out more. I did order a Lowrance LCX-19C with a GPS so the old Garmin 75 will be my backup. I just kind of like the rather large, square shaped thing for some reason.

It is strange that the developers did not think of such a nuance. In any case, you need to place an ad on the labor exchange, where you will find employees for the company and they will work with you, only you will need to conduct a preliminary interview

Creating an application for such a hotel would be the best option. Place your ad on the job exchange on the Internet, I know a few of these, then you can find developers for yourself and the work will go much easier

You won’t have to search for a long time, rather you will need to choose from the options offered. Look on the Internet for all the available options, such developers usually have their own sites that have all the information you need

I am sure that if you search in the google search engine you will find a company that is dedicated to that, but to be honest I have not much idea, I never planted the idea of something like that, from my ignorance it is very complicated, but maybe someone who have more notion of it can guide you and can even recommend a company with a good reputation that is dedicated exclusively to it, good luck with all that

Haven't really targeted geese, think we've got 3 Ross geese a blue goose and one Canada goose. We focus more on ducks, especially when we can get them in the field. Greater and lesser Canada geese around but they are spread out tons of feeds but no large feeds

Finally got the choirs done. Roofed a shed and built a woodshed. Most done by myself. Now's time to go fishing before the deer season.  Found some crappies tonight, caught 11, missed at least that many. West end. Skunked again, how'd you do, saw you heading out?

The three on top of the pile are geese. Smurfy. 😉   +1 on the decent shooting!  Thanks for the pics.  This was one post that got me to log back in to spam central.   Going dark again….
